Looking to purchase your Launch Edition

Yeah right? We are all pretty lucky if these are our concerns. If I were you I would take delivery. I know here in Los Angeles I could flip my Rivian for 20k over sticker next year (probably more). You are in Boulder? You know there are a lot of people who will want a Rivian and not want...

Time to delivery.... if I order now.

I think late 2023-early 2024 as others mentioned above makes a lot of sense - but none of us really know until customers start getting production trucks in their hands which won't be until next year at some point. Nobody knows how quickly Rivian can ramp up production and everyone is guessing...

📈 Rivian Delivery Window Survey Results [Data & Trend Analysis Added]

The launch edition isn't really that different than the adventure. Just some trim pieces and the color. I suspect there will be plenty of adventure builds for early reservation holders going out next year before launch edition vehicles to more isolated locations. I think they just want to...

Wheel Selection (20" with road tire)?

Just get the 21s if you are worried about range loss. They’ll still work well on pavement and occasional off-road. I’ve driven plenty of non-off-road tires on fire roads and dirt trails and it’s not a big deal.

What's the future of the Electric Truck/SUV market?

Ford's most popular Truck is the F-150 XL Regular Cab ($30k) and the 2nd most popular is the XLT SuperCrew ($44k). The F-150 Lightning XLT is $53k before rebates which will bring it to around $45K - Almost exactly the same as the XLT SuperCrew - their second most popular product. Do you think...

What's the future of the Electric Truck/SUV market?

HAHA - Cyber Truck Sales numbers may be the same in 2025 as they were win 2021.

What's the future of the Electric Truck/SUV market?

yeah I only mentioned the platinum because the other comment did. Ford is going to sell millions of electric trucks and millions of ICE trucks over the next decade. The F-150 is the most popular vehicle for 40 years straight. It sells more than any other car, truck or suv every year. Ford...

What's the future of the Electric Truck/SUV market?

Your Rivian may have less than a 300 mile range when you really drive it depending on conditions. Also, to preemptively tout the fit and finish of Rivian (who hasn't delivered a single car to non-employee customers yet) and Ford (who currently have approximately 17 million F-150s on the road )...

    Polestar 3 Previewed

The polestar sedan is pretty great. I am looking forward to this one for my partner who wants a mid size electric SUV thing.

📬 Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

Makes sense. I think a lot of people are tired of waiting and staring at the same images of the truck for 3-4 years. And I look forward to more of them getting out of the way so I can get my truck sooner :p

📬 Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

No. only launch edition customers have been contacted. Non-LE Orders from 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 are all waiting to be contacted so it will probably be a few years until you hear anything.

Porsche Whistleblower: “60% of all delivered Taycan have battery issues that caused replacements, damages and fires”

No idea if it's true or not, but never trust anything from Teslrati or Electrek. Those websites are Tesla shills that made tons of money off of referral codes. They are heavily invested in Tesla's continued success.

R1T being towed to fix wrong front brake caliper installation

Not sure it's worth commentating on hearsay, but if true it's not really surprising or alarming. Things like that happen in early (and late) vehicle production. But it's another reason why you don't want the first cars off the line.

Ok what do you think about this Project Maybach?

I like concept cars. I think this is an interesting one. That said, there's only so much to offer about something that will never exist.

What's the future of the Electric Truck/SUV market?

oh yeah agree on The Cyber Truck. It’s a prop. A concept car. I will be shocked if they actually make it. And if they do, it will sell poorly. It’s too big to fit in most garages and a polarizing design. Ford and Rivian trucks are designed with the owners in mind. The Cyber Truck is designed...

What's the future of the Electric Truck/SUV market?

I have owned many Toyotas and still have a 1975 Land Cruiser, 2015 4Runner. Ever since I got my Model S in 2014 and realized the EV potential, I said my dream car is an electric Tacoma. Toyota isn't going to build it for me for probably another 10 years. The R1T is the perfect size and layout...

Is this Tesla's attempt at taking a shot at Rivian ?

There are lots of reasons to crap on Tesla - mostly Elon, poor build quality - but I think they do a good job of trying to roll out new features. This could be a welcome mode for a lot of their customers. My neighbor has a Model Y on Off Road tires that he takes out most weekends. No other...

Sliding gear tunnel, all weather matts, and other questions I asked Rivian this morning

I'm going to the Santa Clarita Drive event on the 18th. If one of the trucks is equipped with it I can shoot a video of it to give you a better idea. I could see it being very helpful and useful for some people, I'm just not ordering it for myself. I definitely wouldn't add it if it puts you...

Sliding gear tunnel, all weather matts, and other questions I asked Rivian this morning

You might be surprised. There is a very active third party community of small run manufacturers in the 4 wheel / "overloading" community. I already know a company working on something cool for the R1T.
