  1. 📬 Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

I think your sentiment probably represents the majority opinion. It's a car/truck and not a major deal but man, it would have been nice to know this quite a bit earlier, and they easily could have communicated this to us a number of weeks ago.
  2. 📬 Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

    June / Jul 2022 LE R1S Chicago Ordered 11/19
  3. Will Rivian ever deliver vehicles to non-employees?

Those are indeed the pertinent questions. Does it really matter if I'm contacted on Nov 29th instead of Nov 25th?
  4. 8 business days until Thanksgiving… are LE preorder holders getting contacted by our guides?

Over a month ago CS told me around Thanksgiving and then recently said it was by month end. No need to really parse this out . I think it's encouraging that the process for LE holders will be starting
  5. Quick Chat with CS about delivery timeframes

I'd put the number of deposits at 30k when LE orders closed. Off that reservation number graph on this site I figured my reservation number to be somewhere between 15k and 18k given my Nov 2019 deposit date. I'm pretty sure that they received at least another 10k plus from Nov 2019 to Nov 2020...
  6. 8 business days until Thanksgiving… are LE preorder holders getting contacted by our guides?

Got the same response today with CS for my LE R1S...all LE prorders will be contacted by a guide before end of the month What are there, maybe 20k LE orders? If they've hired just 50 Guides that'd be only 400 emails per guide, or 40 per day for 10 days. Shouldn't be a big deal to accomplish it
  7. Quick Chat with CS about delivery timeframes

When did you order the R1S and is it a LE? It seems that the LE vehicles will be taken care of first. Today CS told me that I would be contacted by a guide before month-end. I have on order a LE R1S and using the graph on this forum site, I estimated the reservation number to be somewhere...
  8. Updates on Rivian production ramp from 3rd S-1 amendment [filed 11/5]

If you don't get your delivery until Q3 2024 then the share price will be in the tank. I think that the Tesla Model S rollout shouldn't be a guide. They didn't have a sales pace to warrant a significant jump in production back then. I ordered a Model S in April 2013 and had the car delivered 3...
  9. Updates on Rivian production ramp from 3rd S-1 amendment [filed 11/5]

It's all speculation but it's probably safe to assume that the company is setting themselves up post IPO to under-promise and overdeliver. Once the stock is trading, any problems will impact the share price in an exaggerated way. Odds are, they will exceed these delivery targets, but by how...
  10. New Delivery Delay Confirmed - My R1T Delivery Pushed From October to end of February, 2022.

I agree completely. The fact is that a lot of the hand-wringing etc here could have been avoided if the company had simply made a legitimate effort to communicate with their customers better. When Nissan started the whole new era of mass production BEV's there must have been a lot of complex...
  11. 180 R1T produced / 156 R1T delivered as of Oct 31 -- per Updated Rivian S1 [11/1]

It will be important for Rivian after the IPO to show improving production volumes. It's a whole new ball game with the investing public seeking information on the company's progress. If their production volumes disappoint then the street will not be kind to the company and share price...
  12. R1T vs. Cybertruck vs. F150 Lightning: Ben Sullins' thoughts after riding in each

yep...my '88 LandCruiser only lasted 20 years for me. I live in the Rust Belt and it succumbed to the salted roads etc. Incredible vehicle and classic styling and if I had that truck in mint condition today, I could probably sell it for 10x the original MSRP. I've owned 2 LandCruisers for a...
  13. Rivian Service Centers / Retail Locations List / Other Facilities

The Chicago facility has to be just a showroom. There is not enough space for anything else. The inside is just roughed in and a big crew is working on the site in earnest. I doubt that this building will be open until early 2022. They must be willing to service the Chicago area from Normal...
  14. EV tax credit increase to $12,500 in Biden's latest proposal as of 10/28

Yes, it's a pretty involved issue but it's safe to say that EV's are trading one environmental impact for another and net/net probably come out ahead.
  15. EV tax credit increase to $12,500 in Biden's latest proposal as of 10/28

With you 100% on how the Govt sucked up to that industry. Now Big Oil is buying and building biofuel plants to reap the subsidies there and the world will get more deforestation as a result.
  16. EV tax credit increase to $12,500 in Biden's latest proposal as of 10/28

This is utterly ridiculous. Just another government program that is basically giving away money that the government doesn't have. It was one thing to have incentives ten years ago when it was needed, but people are migrating to EV's now with or without this program. A $3 trillion deficit and...
  17. Rivian Service Centers / Retail Locations List / Other Facilities

Here's a link to the developer of the Chicago building where Rivian will have its showroom. It's a rendering but currently the exterior of the building is finished and the interior looks pretty far along. There is limited access for vehicles so I'm not sure if it will be anything more than a...
  18. Time to delivery.... if I order now.

Did you order a Max Pack? A March 2021 order of a Max Pack may well take until late in 2022. No way for a LE R1S ordered in Jan 2020. That order number would be somewhere between 18000 and 25000 in the queue
  19. Time to delivery.... if I order now.

Agree completely. This isn't an SPAC listing, it's a legitimate IPO and if any of the information included on the S-1 is shown to be grossly exaggerated or false then there will be court proceedings. It would be a disaster for the company and the underwriters. It is stated in the S-1 that they...
  20. Time to delivery.... if I order now.

If you have ordered an R1T back in Jan of 2020 and delivery doesn't arrive until the end of 2022 or 2023 then there is no way this company will receive a valuation of $80bil. Not if they only deliver 20,000 vehicles in a 12 month span
