Just Finished NY First Mile Drive. My R1T impressions & Review

This is one area I'm really looking forward to seeing what the after market comes up with. I think having the stock shuttle preinstalled would be worth it; but as nice as the kitchen set is, the attachments that the aftermarket will come up with I have a feeling will be much improved. Yes, the...

Video: scrolling through Rivian windshield wiper options - sprinkle, drizzle, shower, downpour and storm

Ahh... Now it makes sense. In this specific scenario they were showing that they are easily able to track objects, ANY objects, but because it wasn't raining they were not able to demonstrate the rain drop tracking. Put the wipers on Auto and it will choose the path with the least amount of...

    R1T vs Bronco Pics

There are quite a few Bronco Sports driving around, which is not the same as the full size. Could that be it?

Towing Spy Shot - R1T Tows ATC Trailer

Now we're talking! It has all the features/advantages I was talking about in my other post https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/gas-in-electric-as-opposed-to-plug-in-hybrid.2167/post-57725, but clearly I can't take any credit for the ideas since they are much further along. Should be...

Rivian Improvements Over Your Current Vehicle?

I was looking at it from a mechanical perspective and it's been 15 years since my electrical engineering classes, so I'll take your word for it. I was using the definition of a "generator" as being a device that turns mechanical energy into electricity, which in this case it's already starting...

Towing Spy Shot - R1T Tows ATC Trailer

This is exactly what I said in one of my other posts/topics. In the next few years I think we'll 20-100kWh battery options either as add-ons or already built in to the trailer. It would open up the possibilities on range, but also how long you could really stay off the grid in remote areas. Even...

Rivian Improvements Over Your Current Vehicle?

Well it wouldn't be a backup generator, it would be a backup battery supply that would last a day or 3 (which I'm guessing is what you meant). But I'm really looking forward to more info about that and hope it something they end up committing to!

    Rivian R1T Emergency Response Guide

Hahah, well yes of coarse, in a situations where time is of the essence like a fire things will happen at their speed and they are already trained for electrical fires. I guess I was thinking more about situations when time is not off the essence and things need to be done safely, so disabling...

Rivian Improvements Over Your Current Vehicle?

I can't wait to get my R1S so I can beat 99.5% of all other cars before the onramp merges to one lane on the way up to the mountains in a fully loaded car. I can't wait to get my R1T so I can tackle Moab and the like with my Tacoma driving buddies.

    Rivian R1T Emergency Response Guide

Even more of a reason to have one readily available in the car.

Pickup Truck & SUV experts gobsmacked with R1T first drive [review]

Curious how he was selected considering how few subscribers he has (no offence, it's a great channel deserving of more). But that said, it was a great video!

Gas-in Electric (as opposed to Plug-in Hybrid)

Well I figured out a way to somewhat solve my range dilemma of the R1S for longer trips. Added a R1T with the Max Pack for me since my wife will have the R1S. After watching all of the review videos over the past week, I couldn't help my self, had to have one for my self as well.

    Rivian R1T Emergency Response Guide

I'm sure this is all in the user manual of the car, but wouldn't be a bad idea to have it printed out and one stored in the frunk and one stored in the be back somewhere.

Electric Cars Listed By 0-60 MPH Acceleration: Quickest To Slowest Rivian R1T/R1S turns out to be effectively the least expensive EV in the U.S. 0-60

Agreed, at that rate of acceleration it's not only dangerous for the people around the car, but the whiplash it could create for an unsuspecting passenger could be serous.

Electric Cars Listed By 0-60 MPH Acceleration: Quickest To Slowest Rivian R1T/R1S turns out to be effectively the least expensive EV in the U.S. 0-60

I'm most definitely going to take a FEW laps on a track with this just to see how it does. Especially after what MT has been saying that it drives like a sports car. I'll be able to compare it to my BMW M2C. (I'll be sure to share a video when the time comes!) Has the 3s 0-60mph been confirmed...

    Rivian R1T first crash 😱

Totally agree with this! I could easily see someone new, or more likely a friend, wanting to "rev the engine" thinking that's possible and off they go. The other thing that would be easy for any of the EVs to implement would be some sort of performance limitations by default when the GPS sees...

I would actually argue the opposite and help explain the S shape of the left track.

    Rivian R1T first crash 😱

Looks like there is at least one camera in the area on the corner of the building to the north east of the turn. If it was pointing at the entrance of the parking lot it's next to, this would all be on "tape" somewhere. I'm sure they'll be getting a call from the NHTSA tomorrow. Like everyone...

    Arizona pre-orders

Thanks @Cactusone. I guess I'm order 14301, so at a minimum there are likely 6225 people in front of me. Do we know that the first order number is 1 or did they start a 100, 1000 or an arbitrary number? Edit: Found the post here...
