One of the main reasons I'm looking forward to the Rivian is when I move back to Colorado in two years, I'll never be more than an hour's drive from a charger, thanks to the deal they've inked with the state parks. With the RTT and the camp kitchen, there will never be an excuse to not go...
Does anyone know if the vehicles will be on permanent display there? If so, I foresee a trip down to Venice in the very, very near future.
Edit: Even if they're not, a chance to check out the interior and exterior samples might be worth it alone, just so I can stop messing with the...
I'm a big fan of Tesla's cars, but the company seems to be putting me off more and more as time goes on. I'm definitely glad they exist and have moved the needle on EV adoption, but it's great to have the competition coming along that we do. Hopefully these are just baseless accusations.
Not a video, but: https://arstechnica.com/cars/2021/09/rivians-67-500-314-mile-electric-adventure-truck-put-to-the-test/
Some good pictures. Nothing terribly new, I think, but still, very good in Dr. Gitlin's eyes.
Between the tax credit, a trade-in, and the money I had already saved up for a Model 3, it's not that big of a stretch. Not to mention the money I'll save on gas, maintenance, etc. I used to drive BMWs, so I'm well acquainted with foolishly spending money.😂
Well, I learned a few things from this article:
1. I made the right choice in getting a Rivian and selecting the R1T.
2. I'm glad I put my reservation in a few months ago, as little as that helps.
3. It looks like waypoints are built into the nav system (see the picture where it has legs...
I grew up near the old Route 66 in Missouri. You would always see a lot of interesting vehicles making the trek. There's a lot of the old "Americana" style tourist attractions peppered along the road. Makes me nostalgic for all the road trips I took with my dad.
Semi-related to Route 66...
Awesome videos! What sticks out the most to me is how quiet it is. There's a distinct lack of squeaks or rattles as the R1T goes over all that uneven terrain. If that is the fit and finish quality of the pre-production models, buying an R1T is going to be money well spent!
Thanks for sharing all this information. It makes me wish I'd known about Rivian and pre-ordered sooner. Now I have to play the waiting game and it's that much more difficult. 😭
On the other hand, much more time to hem and haw over paint choices.
So glad you got to experience...
Y'all some salty mofo's in this thread. 😆
I like how the colors look in the lower light conditions. Still need to get eyes on them in real life to make a final decision. Looks like everyone was having fun, though.
It looks like most of your gear was spared at least.
Any chance you can get a loaner from a friend or family? It would suck to buy a new (to you) vehicle to only need it for six to eight months. I don't envy your situation.
Remember the good times, though.
Actually, reading Ms. Hall's article makes me feel better. I won't be doing anything remotely like the Rebelle Rally (not at first anyways,) so I should be more than safe when I go out. My main concerns are charging deserts on rural U.S. highways. I like to avoid Interstate travel when I can.
