Good video. Encouraging stuff.
LEs are being produced but by hand unfortunately. I did not see any robots operating and there were a few with shrink wrap still on them.
Seems like deliveries lag production.
Clearly Rivian is not in the production ramp yet but they are producing vehicles and...
IMO delivery of LEs is not affected by van production. R1 production is currently filling employee customer orders, which is the right thing to do.
General public Customer LEs should benefit from employee customer production happening first.
It is only 10/13/21!!! LEs are on their way!
I am sure they are under staffed. There are 1500+ job postings but I think there are enough folks to take care of the vans and to produce the R1Ts for their employees. I am thinking 500+ employee customers
Yesterday CS confirmed that they are in production but have not started the production...
I think at this point in Rivian’s emergence they will miss more dates than they meet but they will succeed. They have come a long ways and yes they have missed dates but they have delivered Prime vans and great R1T/R1S vehicles.
Just checking but I think the end of November is when LE guide contact is supposed to be completed; is that correct?
Even so it does seem that Rivian is cutting it pretty close.
Rivian will come through, may be a month late but they will come through.
I agree that NDAs are not in play.
Rivian has 6000+ employees so conservatively there could be 500+ employee customer orders. Seems somewhat reasonable that Rivian would suggest they hold off posting until employee customer deliveries are complete.
If you are not an early reservation then you will probably not see your Lightning until 2023.
I am 6/3/21 reservation, in the 90,000 Lightning crowd and don’t expect to get a Lightning until late 2023 early 2024.
I chatted with CS this morning and they said they are in the production phase just before starting the ramp.
It occurred to me that Rivian has 6,000+ employees and that all of Rivian’s production so far could easily be consumed by employee (customers). Conservatively 500+.
I support employees...
I still think the current silence and lack of any evidence of production/deliveries is predictable production ramp issues but I am starting to think Rivian was/is not as production ready as it appeared with the announcement of the first sellable R1T.
IMO it does not matter what the IPO says, what matters is what Rivian can reasonably do.
I just don’t see Rivian hitting 1000 vehicles per week (produce AND deliver) consistently for 6-9 months or longer. My many years of HVM semiconductor manufacturing and R&D tells me that my estimate of...
IMO Amazon van production is not the primary driver of what appears to be nearly if not 0 production and delivery of LEs.
I think it is related to fundamental issues going from pilot line to full production. There may even be a regulatory issue. Which is to be expected.
The silence from Rivian...
