  1. De Walt chargers?

Would have been alot cooler if it could charge a couple of 20/60v batteries at same time.
  2. 2023.42.01 update nerfed the stereo 🤷🏼‍♂️? Updated

I agree...when people say it lacks or whatever...I dont get it. About best I have heard in a vehicle...
  3. 2023.42.01 update nerfed the stereo 🤷🏼‍♂️? Updated

I checked numbers this am. Meridian here too. Spotify as source. I would say 15 is my normal level. 20 is loud. 25 is super loud. I quit at that. And on low end 3-4 is very low for background with riders. So for me, I would consider this perfect. Plenty of control on both ends without...
  4. Radio stayed on and drained the battery. Why?

That is super cool! I have been out of the kid seat game for a long time and didn't know that.
  5. Rivian Service Centers / Retail Locations List / Other Facilities (Pics & Updates)

I just hope they are already into plan B solution whatever that is.
  6. Radio stayed on and drained the battery. Why?

Makes sense. I wish the auto world would figure out a way to handle that bad scenario of forgotten kids in vehicles. But it seems the front then is just for convenience to keep audio/hvac, future streaming, etc... all function when a passenger stays in vehicle. In that case, I agree....start...
  7. Radio stayed on and drained the battery. Why?

Too many kids die in hot vehicles in this country and anything that can stop that I am all in on. I should have said that last post...sorry... Edit... Now that I think more about it, how do they handle the rear seat belts where most kids are at and forgotten? If they stay buckled does it stay...
  8. Radio stayed on and drained the battery. Why?

I agree with all but: No powering down however unless the battery is 100% depleted or a command, only accessable on in vehicle screen, not app, is acknowledged to turn it off.
  9. Christmas mode update?

I think things like various holiday modes sell trucks. I hope they add more than just Halloween in the future.
  10. Center console lid rattle

I always have a roll of velcro for these exact reasons. Most often using the soft half only as a way to add some pressure wherever needed to stop a rattle.
  11. Crap Rivian just lost fastest truck title (to Cybertruck)

Same for me. I wanted the fastest version so only way to go was QM. I have tried to use the "nobody needs" logic on a purchase in past and started regretting it immediately after I took delivery and within about a year it was replaced with the fastest version. One just has to know themselves...
  12. Efficiency Vs. Temperature: Data Update, Conserve Only Helps in Warm Temps.

Maybe I am wrong....but it seems to me the energy has 4 paths here ultimately. In, from the battery, out to the motor shaft, out to the coolant, and lastly out to the environment. What I am saying is that the energy to the environment is similar in both cases and so is the motor shaft. So...
  13. Efficiency Vs. Temperature: Data Update, Conserve Only Helps in Warm Temps.

Yes...you were consuming energy to heat your battery pack. The same or similar amount of energy the DM would need to consume to do the same amount of heating (work) of the battery pack. Other than some fairly small, potential(and I say potential since we don't know enough of the equation)loss...
  14. Efficiency Vs. Temperature: Data Update, Conserve Only Helps in Warm Temps.

No offense taken. I am a mechanical engineer with over 30 years in the heat transfer field, so I am just trying to explain, and probably poorly. What I was saying in that statement, is that if the coolant surfaces are somewhere thermally in the case, it is possible in the QM, that the heat...
  15. Efficiency Vs. Temperature: Data Update, Conserve Only Helps in Warm Temps.

I don't think Bosch was an experiment. It was a get to market quicker move which added cost, so with time, lower costs thru vertical integration drives the change. Just because the sensor in the QM is located in a thermal location that shows higher temps, does not mean that the DM is more...
  16. Efficiency Vs. Temperature: Data Update, Conserve Only Helps in Warm Temps.

Since the system isn't intentionally rejecting any heat, the loss of efficiency energy has to go somewhere, so for what you say to be true, that would mean the actual drive case would have to be hot and rejecting that loss of efficiency heat. I don't think that is the case. Most of the heat is...
  17. Quad vs dual motor performance

For the off road customers, I wish Rivian had included a lockable center diff in the front and rear of the DM to avoid brake lock diff techniques. Hard to beat a true locking differential off road. Unfortunately even with the DM still can't lock a center diff...which is ultimate off road...
  18. Quad vs dual motor performance

For me the Quad would be the way to go. Longer warranty, more power, and torque vectoring all are pluses to me. And I am not convinced that clutching mechanism in the rear of the duals is going to stand the test of time with the frequent engagement and disengagement it will be seeing (or if...
