R1S Glass Roof Tint - Heat Rejection - Wrap outside of glass?

Has anyone experience any glass cracking from the roof tint?

Only asking because folks who tinted Model Y roofs witnessed cracks and tint shops don't offer the service anymore. They will only tint the side windows, no roofs.

Anyways, if Rivian's roof can be tinted without cracking in the heat; that's a positive.

I'm going to wrapping the outside of both sections of the glass roof on my LA Silver R1S with a silver metallic wrap. I had a sunshade for a few weeks, but even with the sunshade the heat radiating from the glass roof is high. I am hoping the silver wrap reflects (rather than absorbs) heat better than extra tint from the inside.

I am just waiting on the delivery of a few wrap samples from a few wrap companies to find the wrap that best matches LA Silver. Yes, my roof will be part black and part LA Silver, but I don't care. It will be unique, and hopefully much cooler!

If Rivian had an option to remove the glass and replace it with insulated panels I would be all over it.

Someone should design a panel that mounts to the roof rack mounts that reflects all sun, and also serves as an air gap between that panel and the roof. That would be great!

Coastal Central Florida - tinted along with PPF front and ceramic coat everything within a week of delivery, so can’t comment on before/after.
Supreme Wraps - Orlando
XPEL XR Plus all windows (don’t recall %)
XPEL XR Plus Windshield windshield (70%)
XPEL XR Plus roof glass - 2 piece (70%)

Yeah, despite the installer’s experience (mostly Teslas) and assurances, I do worry a bit about the tint causing the roof glass to crack. Haven’t been through a summer yet… we’ll see.
