Rivian to open Inland Empire dealership

Rivian Automotive Inc. is opening a dealership in California's Inland Empire.

The electric car manufacturer (Nasdaq: RIVN) signed a long-term lease for a light-manufacturing facility in Perris. Rivian plans to use the 49,470-square-foot space for vehicles sales, maintenance, service, charging and repair.

The 4.6-acre property at 18631 Seaton Ave. is part of a logistics campus owned by Dedeaux Properties. The site has two buildings with 30-foot clear heights, ESFR sprinklers, 1,200 amps of power, 16 dock high loading doors and a yard with 34 auto stalls and 55 trailer stalls.

The other building is occupied by Ryder Logistics.

That "Inland Empire" bit threw me off, as my part of Washington is sometimes referred to as the same.

Way to go for that part of California, I guess.....

Will be my closest service center but the current ones aren't that far away. Between, Eastvale, Colton and now Perris the Inland Empire will be well covered!

Rivian has used surface lots in Perris before to store EDVs and I wonder if this Perris center will be mainly servicing those as there's not too many Rivians in Perris although a few in Riverside.

I’m surprised they’re not opening one closer to Palm Springs instead vs Perris

That looks more like it. There are several Amazon Fulfillment Centers/Warehouses with EDVs just north of Perris.

Although I wouldn’t personally mind if they will be a service center for Rs as they’re basically next door from ours.
