Worst truck ever. Bib fails and your done. No heat. No power just hours of beeping in a winter storm for 5 hrs.

i think as some have stated we can tell it was a post more out of frustration which we all would have felt if we finally got a technician out to fix something that only made it worse.

and I’m sure many of us would have said the same thing ‘ this is the worst truck ever!’ Out of frustration at the moment even if is not what we really mean. So I say we just give the OP the benefit of the doubt and have some compassion for how frustrating being stranded like that must be.

but to the OP, most of us have had very few problems in our ownership. Many of us have had more than one Rivian by now and love them. So I’m sure after they get this resolved you will enjoy the truck a long time

I'm disappointed in all y'all. Nobody has noted the incorrect spelling of "you're."
I noted it, it drove me batsh-t crazy, but a tiny seed of empathy hit me and I elected not to comment. Frankly, I'm disappointed in myself for the restraint.

You are displaying “The fundamental weakness of Western civilization”.

I’m still confused about the Bib term when used with respect to a Rivian. I’m wondering if a tech used that term and what component was being referred to.
In traditional ICE vehicles, a “battery isolation box” is a non-conductive box around a battery. A “battery isolator” generally is a relay used to disconnect one battery (if your vehicle has two) so that you can run stuff with engine off and it inly drains one of them.

What has Rivians response been to the situation? Seems like it was a Technician error and not a random truck failure.
Replaced the BIB was back in service a few days later. They indicated it wasn't a technician issue. They also replaced the 12v battery again since it had gone completely dead by morning and had to be jump started from the frunk which is a whole other story about how when it bricked. I couldn't get to my jacket which was stranded In the frunk. There is a cable you can pull on after you remove the wheel liner with that Torx 20 bit we all carry around with us. My Leatherman had one but I tell that Lil cable is like finding Waldo.

One failure and it’s the worst ever? Must live a very sheltered and posh life.
56 years old I've owned suzukis Mazda Ford chev gm Ram Porsche and Toyotas and not one of them has beeped for five hours they have all had issues. I am a bit of negative nancy when it comes to posting but I dont think im the only one. My biggest issue is the beeping the breaking down is one very frustrating thing but the beeping for 5 hours is insane in my opinion. I can usually tone out a door buzzer but this is so loud and 5 hours is just too much. Beeping for 5 minutes and shut up or something.

Thank you for being so understanding. I had another issue after this with broken wire on a temperature sensor which is also part of this reason for this post.

There are others on here who have had multiple problems with their trucks and "lemon lawed" it. Maybe those people can legitimately say they had the "worst truck ever", but I would never say that after one problem.

Sure, it was annoying, but it is definitely not something that would cause me to say "worst truck ever", and certainly I would not post that on a forum full of fans.

Anyway, I like to help people when they have problems. The OP was not asking for help. Just pissing and moaning. Sorry, no sympathy here. When you spew negativity, it is bound to come back at you. It is hard to have sympathy when that happens.

Welcome to the forum OP. So it seems you had all kinds of details that would have A) helped a lot of the forum people to understand your problem, and B) empower them to actually help you, rather than get frustrated.

When my Gen 2 had the dreaded vampire drain, and I was concerned about this, I would use a 1kwh Jackary battery and a battery tender. I connected that to the pigtails hidden under the hitch cover to trickle charge the 12V battery. This worked, so until an update came (can't recall which one) that, while not being ideal, kept me from worrying about dead 12V issues. Maybe something you could try?
Thank you. I will take your suggestions to heart.

No sympathy desired. Im yelling at the wind. Maybe someone will appreciate they weren't the only ones who had to listen to beeping for hours in a $110000.00 truck. Its a tech company not a automotive manufacturer which is what they tell me. The truck is ok the tech isn't great. If you love yours. Good for you.

I didnt bring up the 51st state comment....
You are new here. Politics are banned. This is a car forum.

Just trying to help you out if you change your mind about your truck and decide to stick around. This forum is a great resource of ideas and help. (I hope you change your mind, BTW. I really do think my truck is the "best truck ever".)
