There will be a Ford Bronco EV, and it will be built on the Rivian platform.

I am a Jeep (Wrangler) guy & think that Ford could kick Jeep's *ss in the EV space. I was wondering if Rivian would do it on their own, but it's clear that Ford has very ambitious plans for the Bronco brand, and I think it makes too much sense.

I just read a new article about Ford making Bronco it's own off road brand & had mention of a Bronco EV.

https://carbuzz.com/news/ford-could-make-bronco-its-own-rugged-off-road-brand

It linked to an article I hadn't previously seen that mentioned rumor of the Bronco EV & possibility of collaboration with Rivian.

https://carbuzz.com/news/theres-a-good-chance-the-ford-bronco-will-go-electric

I will absolutely still follow through with my R1S, but Bronco EV or Jeep Wrangler EV will likely be my next vehicle purchase after R1S.

A Bronco-EV built on a Rivian platform would be tempting. Big thing keeping me away from Bronco (besides ICE) is poor towing vehicle. EV solves that!

I would love to get back into a Bronco and the an EV version would be tempting! I had an 81 Bronco for years. I wish I could see one of the true off road versions around town, everything I have seen so far reminds me of a bronco2 which I wasn't a fan of.

For those mentioning what they've seen on the road so far, only the (not really a) Bronco Sport is selling to the public.

None of the new real Broncos have been delivered yet. Like the Rivian R1T supposedly starts in June

That's a relief! I have zero interest in the Bronco sport. It doesn't even deserves the Bronco branding.

Feels like the love for ICE is drying up (melting?) and the thirst for BEV is rising fast. When Ford announced very recently that the new Broncos EPA fuel 'economy' will be 17-21 combined it was disappointing. Add on the Big wheel/tire 'Sasquatch' package and it probably drops another 3-4, so more Broncos will be getting around 15'ish MPG. That's early 2000 Toyota V-6 poor mileage in a truck or 4Runner.

It is crazy that the Jeep Wrangler actually has better fuel economy than the new Bronco.

I am really impressed with all the innovation that's gone into the new Bronco...I would venture to say that I would lean that direction over Jeep if I was looking at both of them brand new right now. If a Bronco EV was underpinned by a skateboard similar to our R1s, I would literally be all over that.

I want to see the F150 Lightning pricing in comparison to its ICE equivalents, which I think would be a good indicator of Bronco EV pricing. I really hope it's reasonable & not in the Hummer EV realm.

EV Bronco on Rivian skateboard/platform would awesome. Bronco is on my list if Rivian doesn't end up working out for whatever reason. An EV version would be top of my list.
