I'm looking for the distant from the top of the tailgate (when lowered) to the hitch ball. I'll be loading dirt bikes in the bed and occasionally towing a trailer and concerned about the lowered tailgate hitting the trailer when making tight turns. I prefer not to use a hitch extension.

You can get pretty close to the dimensions you want from this and photos of the hitch.

that distance will vary based on the rise or drop of the hitch you put in the receiver.

So I put an order in on Aug 3, 2021, and we just got a test drive invitation for Oct 1st! I was just wondering is there any rhyme or reason to us getting an invite before people that were at the LA Auto show in 2018 or anybody for that matter that has been waiting for over 1-2-3 years?

We DO live in the Chicago burbs which is about 1hr 45min away from the Normal. IL plant.. Also, another factor that may affect this such as config:

Compass Yellow
"22 Sportbrite
7 Seat
Ocean Coast Interior
Cargo Crossbars
Floor Mats
Field Kit

Another factor??:
we own another EV ( Model Y P )

Anyways, I feel lucky and can't complain! If anybody wants any special pics while at the test drive, I'll try to get in as many in as possible. I'm really wanting to see the Compass Yellow in person. If it's "too much", I'll probably get the Blue.....(but, maybe the Limestone and maybe the Forest Green).

Please post pics of the Compass Yellow or Blue if you see them on the test drive!

@Blueassassin were you able to see the Tonneau cover retract and extend into position for the bed? I still have yet to hear much about this and see it in action. Would love it if someone could post any photos or a video if they have it.

Dear anyone who reads this and is going to the first mile events….please check if the largest of the camp kitchen’s snow peak mug fits in the front cup holders ?

This would have been smart I do have to say some of the guys there didn't know much one guy was trying to tell me the mugs weren't snow peak and I was trying to explain to him that they were... they are these stackable snow peak mugs and felt very nice.

There was no LG truck between 2-4 today, but they did have a sample panel and it looks great. The employees I spoke to said that it looks even better as a whole. I have to say, the blue looks amazing—I think I will stick with LG, but I definitely waffled today

So you are saying they don't have an actual R1T on site of every differs color to look at, only color panels?

Thanks to @Blueassassin (Allen) and his wife, I was able to go to the event yesterday as his guest. Unbelievable how great these trucks are. The demo drive just showed me how capable these trucks are. The ride was so smooth and comfortable it just blew my mind. And talking to RJ was a great experience! Very approachable and seemed legitimately interested in what we all had to say. here are a few pictures I took, and if anyone has any questions I would be more than glad to answer and thank you again to Blueassassin for helping me see these awesome trucks:

Glad you could come defiantly exited for the times when we all have our trucks and can do some meet ups and camping trips!

Not impressed with that foam piece right by the finger. Looks cut with scissors and probably adhesive backed. I expect that will fall off very quickly.
