First 24 Hours with R2 - impressions, positives, nits

When I plugged in the R2 at home for the first time I could not get the charger to unlock. Spent an hour trying different things, soft reboot, hard reset both did not release the charger, nor disconnecting the charger from power. Then removed the trunk tub to pull the manual switch and was able to remove the charger... so glad I was not at a DCFC with an audience watching me man handle the charger a dozen times.

It now works fine, it appears that it was just "stuck" in the lock position and the motorized release wasn't enough torque to unstick it. Once it started working it worked like it should and you could hear the mechanical lock locking and releasing.

The charge port was also very tight (tried three different chargers), I am hoping it losens up a bit over time with usage.

I had a similar experience yesterday charging for the first time with my R2. I have a Lectron J1772 adapter for my Emporia charger. The charge port on the R2 seems really tight and it took some effort to put in the charger, same with removing it. Really doesn't feel normal, but this is my first time using NACS, so maybe it is. Also learned with NACS you have to stop the charge session, even with level 2, which I didn't have to do before with J1772. Have you had anymore issues? The tightness of the port is making nervous, as I really don't like the feeling of having to use force.

I've had two Teslas and 2 Tesla HPWC and 2 Tesla Mobile Chargers, I too would not classify it as "normal". At home in my previous vehicles it would just "slip in" and I always thought it was way better than the "two handled J1772" experience. Now I have a two handed NACS experience.

Pushing the button on the NACS handle will temporarily stop charging and unlock, but you have to be quick to pull it out or it relocks, which is easy when it doesn't stick but with the tightness makes almost impossible to time.

But when I took the R2 to two different Tesla super chargers it worked just fine, no tightness, it is only at home I have issues. So I honestly don't know if it's the home chargers being a little big, the R2 being a little smaller, or both.

For now I have decided to live with it until there is another reason to go to the service center (so far so good!) and/or more experiences with more chargers.

I've also thought about trying to put some lub/grease in the charge port but didn't know what would be safe.

I picked up my R2 on Saturday. I charged it last night on a schedule and it completed charging. When i went to go unplug the cable a little while ago, the light stayed green and I couldn't pull the cable out as it was locked. Eventually, i locked it and then unlocked it with the key card and the light turned white and i could remove the cable. Has anyone else seen this? I have a gen 3 Tesla Wall Charger.

Other issues i've had is that the phone charger has stopped working and Sunday morning the screens were black and wouldn't wake up. I had to reset it by pushing the hazzard button and park button to get them to come back on.
