At $100k+ for max pack, definitely in the premium category. Gonna keep my 22 R1T a while longer and just buy the extended warranty. Maybe upgrade when gen3 comes out.

I wonder if the 2nd row captain's chairs have the same mounting points as in earlier models, in case someone wanted to swap. It would have to be from a used parts dealer, since I'm sure Rivian wouldn't sell them to you directly... or if they did it would be unbelievably expensive!

They do not. Rivian already said they aren't compatible.

Those of us with the pre-price increase defo have a much harder time trading in lol. It feels like an amazing deal to be honest. I'm waiting until my warranty is over, and then I'll grab another R1S with Captains chairs.
Yeah, there’s just no way to justify dropping $40K on the Autonomy+ package when early adopters already paid 66K (or so) for a Launch Quad R1. I’ll drive my R1T until the wheels fall off, and the R1S too, according to my wife as well. I'm glad they are building an interior configuration people clamored for. Gen3 is probably 2029-2030.

Wow, I forgot what a good deal you all got! I'd easily do without all the latest upgrades Gen2 owners get for that price....plus you all have the Meridian Sound System.

My plan was to drive my R1S until the end of the warranty, which for me will be the 5 years. I'll address things in the summer of 2028 and decide what to do.

All of us do not have the Meridian system.

A great deal, that almost wasn't. We basically had to band together and go to war with Rivian when they tried to drop a price hike on all of us. It turned into a full‑on revolt, and RJ eventually backed down and reversed it. Wild times. The Meridian is a whole different animal, though, and personally, I’m way more into the sound of the Bosch motors.

I have the early XCare warranty out until 133,000 miles and five more years. I'm at 73,000 miles now. R1S 33K miles. Back to the 2027 updates......

They’d have to really take a swing at a redesign of the R1T for something like that to happen. Like actual geometry change.
A small sliding window in the rear glass is feasible and don't require heavy re-engineering. But, the question is "why bother with such a small window?" It's not like ventilation is such a big problem with the existing R1T. More like a solution begging for problems.
