The earliest appointment I had for tint/PPF was next week unfortunately. So I did do a little bit of driving with it but will keep it garaged until then to avoid any damage.

The areas that they cut costs are honestly something that I don't really notice nor would it bother me day to day. They definitely did a fantastic job balancing what they give you for the cost.

I wish they offered a darkout package with it. I will need to be on the lookout for aftermarket kits.

I don't think the R2 will need running boards so the only mods I think I'll do is the tint and PPF for the wife. We also have a set of racks included in the purchase and waiting for it to come into stock. I am bummed they didn't just make this a blackout model. I may end up asking the PPF guy to wrap the bottom cowls in front/back in matte black.

Just got my invite and placed my order. Woohoo! Was originally scheduled for Sept/Oct but was pleasantly surprised with the invite this morning. Now we'll see how long it takes to actually get to me.

Yeah I'm still waiting on my Crossbars and Cargo Cover. I inquired about it this morning and they are still pending fulfillment. They are confident it should be next week. We will see.

I'm definitely going to ask about the bottom cowls being PPF'd in black as well. And in the absence of any dark emblem kits yet, I may do those too.

Just as a note, my wife received her invite to order today as well (she ordered within the first minute it was available on 3/7/2024). She likely won't take it as I already received my vehicle and she will take it over when I inevitably get something else in a year.

New to this forum, I guess I can't edit? More details:

Reserved 3/7/2024 in the first frew minutes, non-owner, no lease, AZ, no service center in my city but <100 miles away, selected interest in Launch Edition back in May I think? My invite estimate on 6/30 was Aug-Sept.

No date given for delivery estimate, no vin yet, ordered Catalina Cove with 20" wheels and black crater + spare tire + cargo cover

Beware with Rivian's trade-in estimates with the delivery waits! As with most, the trade-in value of my R1S was an important factor in deciding to go ahead and order the R2... so naturally, I requested an estimate right before ordering. 2023 R1S that had 17070 miles on the odometer at the time. Rivian only holds estimates for 2 weeks at a time. My estimate expired yesterday, and I logged in to renew it. Estimate dropped over $1000 in two weeks and 180 miles. I understand they can't hold estimates forever. But, is it me, or does that seem a bit much? Anyone else with experience here?

Beware with Rivian's trade-in estimates with the delivery waits! As with most, the trade-in value of my R1S was an important factor in deciding to go ahead and order the R2... so naturally, I requested an estimate right before ordering. 2023 R1S that had 17070 miles on the odometer at the time. Rivian only holds estimates for 2 weeks at a time. My estimate expired yesterday, and I logged in to renew it. Estimate dropped over $1000 in two weeks and 180 miles. I understand they can't hold estimates forever. But, is it me, or does that seem a bit much? Anyone else with experience here?

I don’t have experience with the quote expiring but for me the quote was so good I couldn’t pass it up. Mine is a lease and they still offered $5900 credit if I trade it in. I need new tires soon (20” AT which isn’t cheap) and registration is due in sept. So it seemed like a logical choice to take them up on that trade in offer.

The peak time to sell a car is July. Values drop off once August hits. The worst time to sell a car is December.

Also check out EV Auto. They gave me the best price and was easy for my Tesla.

Plus Rivian doesn't really look at the cars too closely (if at all) which is nice if you have some minor things that others would reduce the value for.

As far as quote expiration, if you have already ordered and started going through the purchase steps, I was told that holding the value you were quoted should be fine. Obviously that is not set in stone if it takes a long time to get your vehicle (due to rail delays, etc.) but it is something it sounds like they can be flexible on within reason.
