Can you elaborate on how it actually works? Would service be paid by Rivian Care or would you have to pay first then file with RC for reimbursement?

Rivian Care is administered by a third party (Assurant). So as of now, the process requires the SC to file a claim and then you wait for reimbursement - less your deductible. There are whisperings that they are going to move to a direct pay model, where they would pay Rivian directly and you just pay your deductible.

Also important to remember that Rivian Care takes effect immediately and runs concurrent with any existing warranty. So if you're still under factory warranty, the only things Rivian Care would pay for until your factory warranty expires would be things like wiper blades, brake linings, etc. since those aren't covered by factory warranty.

Well that sucks. The one I bought pays Rivian directly using a credit card.

That's what they want you to believe. But it turns out that they'll never actually reach out to you. Instead, send an email with your vehicle details (VIN/Mileage/Model/Year) to [email protected] letting them know you'd like a quote for Rivian Care. Once I did that, they sent me a personalized link within a day or two for a quote. I just purchased my plan yesterday.

Sent! I'll post quote when I get it. Curious to see if they can see the physical location of the truck, or the list of addresses in my account.

I'm jealous. Rivian Care is not available in the Keystone state and there are no indications as to when, or even if, it will be. I love my R1T and would like to keep it for a long time, but don't want to do so without an extended warranty.

Yea! I see that Washington is finally listed. Does anyone have a copy of the actual policy or T&C's? Maybe I missed it, but I saw nothing on the Rivian site.

We added Rivian Care's Vehicle Service Contract to our purchase in WA, on 19 July before it was even listed on the Rivian site. Here is the sample T&C I downloaded at the time.

Got my link. Here's the two plans offered (attached). My link expires 9/1/26, so looks like I have a month to decide.

For the Vehicle Service Contract, you have the choice of 1-6 years, and deductible $0, $250, $500, $1000.

For the Preferred Vehicle Protection, you have a range of 1-7 years, and deductible of $0 or $50
