Ha it’s still not $9.99, or $99 annually for movies, maps, apps, radio and more.

$13 or $149 just so the vehicle can do what it does or “just internet connectivity” as some say.

Way too much! That’s 49% more money for a third of what Tesla provides.

Ok, ok will keep Tesla. Take care. Thanks.

One last thing to add. At least with the R1, the $14.99 included a vehicle hotspot. Teslas do not do this with their subscription. YMMV on how useful this is, but that distinction alone would be worth the extra.

We used the hotspot extensively on our WA to CA trip last year (free trial period). We intend to subscribe for a month if we do it again this year.

$149 a year is definitely not $0 but I mean come on guys, if you can afford to purchase an R1 or an R2 you should be more than capable of paying $149 a year IF you want the features Connect+ enables. There are direct costs to Rivian to supply these features on an on going basis. If you don’t want the features that’s perfectly fine too, don’t purchase it but complaining about $149 a year or the “but Tesla” drivel….is a bit long in the tooth in my opinion.

I plan on signing up for it even at that price per year. Just curious as to why current owners/new owners are passing on it? When we were early adopters of the Model 3, it came with Premium Connectivity for life. When we got our Model Y, I signed up for it right away. That makes me think of another question for you Tesla owners that might be replacing their Tesla with an R2. Does the $99 annual subscription automatically get cancelled when the car is removed from the account so no future charges will occur or will I need to contact Tesla to have them remove it?
