I agree, a lot of R2 will be sold, more than the R1, but models with 21's will be = or less than the current R1 sales were. The dominant models that will sell in volume on the R2 all come standard with 19's or 20's.
A very good distinction and I suspect you are correct.

A “few” to me is more than 2 years, maybe 4. IF you get 30,000 miles out of those Pirelli tires I will be shocked.

Fingers crossed for ya
I have 85k on my R1T. I got 40k miles on my first and second set of Pirellis. I have no complaints with the Pirellis. I decided to try Michelins on my third set of tires mainly because they were cheaper and I have always had good experiences with Michelins in the past.

Leaning towards the 20s as well as I'd like cheaper and broader tire options. I'll probably swap for AS down the line for a range boost.

I thought the same when I got my R1 3 years ago. Not many options and no 3 peak all-weather options.

I wonder if the Premium's Pirelli 20" AS will be a double-secret build option on Performance? Or maybe a swap at delivery? I want 20" but have no use for BFG AT that's (apparently) not 3PMSF. Seems a packaging miscue, but aiming for early-MY28 so perhaps it gets sorted out during year one.
  • 20-inch BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A+ tires (255/60R20). This rugged setup is optimized for loose gravel, dirt, and confident off-road handling.
  • 20-inch Pirelli Scorpion AS / Scorpion MS tires (255/60R20). These are designed for everyday driving and feature low rolling resistance to maximize battery range.
We have Pirelli WeatherActive 3PMSF on 3 cars, would get them if eventually offered in RS size.
That is still a big question: Are the 20s 3PMSF?
