Thank you fellow Hoosier for the detailed trip review! Sounds like some of those issues were definitely concerns. And when on vacation, that only adds to the stress. For our trip to Canada last summer, we decided to just rent a gas vehicle vs our R1S, to avoid the extra travel time for...
They need to decide what the message is with R2 Launch and its “eyes off” capability. RJ says it’s not capable, and the recent “Rivian Stories” states it will have limited eyes off.
Overall great experience. A bit shocked I was the only one there when I arrived. I assumed it would be crowded with people wanting to see it in person. They just gave me the "keys" and asked I be back in 30 minutes. A bit nervous driving it, to be honest. Very solid, very quiet. Much...
They just gave me the "keys". There were no restrictions, recommended I take it on the Highway as well. No one from Rivian joined me for the test drive.
It was a lot quieter than our R1S. No rattles. I didn't take it out on the highway because there was a rock truck in front of me as I was about to exit to the highway. I didn't want to be the guy coming back from the test drive with rock chips.
Test drive went well, very solid vehicle! I was surprised that I was the only one there when I showed up. Take your time to explore the floor model before your test drive so you can focus on testing the "drive" for those 30 minutes and not the features.
Stopped by this morning to check it out! Very nice space, typical of the other "Rivian Spaces". No R2 (or any indication it) on display yet. They said they hope to get one "next week". Service Center portion should be up and running fully within a couple weeks.
It appears to be open now! The "Coming Soon" has been removed from the website. Hope to swing by tomorrow morning to see if they have an R2 on display and check out the space. Will report back .
The "$5000" price range has been mentioned a few times for this tent. Seems like a lot for a tent, but if I were to get one, I would go with this OEM version.
