    Pretty much moot discussion unless you want to delay and wait for a new VIN (assuming you even can easily). You could get a full size spare but storage might necessitate a hitch mount tire carrier as it will eat up cargo room.

    It may not be a failure mode that they observed in the last 2 years of testing. But now that they know, they can push out software to address it.

    If it's just a defective rear crash sensor, could be as simple as replacing a part.

    I would call back and see if they will arrange a tow. Explain the failure mode that it randomly died on the road while you were driving. Unfortunately, it seems like some strangely bad luck you found a tech on the road as Rivian would have just towed you right away.

    This one turned out to be a bad wiring harness so nothing major like the main pack or even the 12v battery. Those were just symptoms of the harness.

    You might get bumped up regardless as a lot of people moved up. Hard to say for sure. Especially in a busy delivery area like California. Even if you got pulled early for an invite, you would have a wait for a VIN anyways. That timeline could partly depend on color combinations you choose...

    I think i read somewhere that Rivian Assistant is in testing by employees for R2. Might be the next big OTA update?

    Technically, we got "Final step before you order R2" as we hadn't designed an R2 yet so i'm assuming "Almost time to order" is the same thing. :D
