Pretty much moot discussion unless you want to delay and wait for a new VIN (assuming you even can easily).
You could get a full size spare but storage might necessitate a hitch mount tire carrier as it will eat up cargo room.

I would call back and see if they will arrange a tow. Explain the failure mode that it randomly died on the road while you were driving. Unfortunately, it seems like some strangely bad luck you found a tech on the road as Rivian would have just towed you right away.
You might get bumped up regardless as a lot of people moved up. Hard to say for sure. Especially in a busy delivery area like California. Even if you got pulled early for an invite, you would have a wait for a VIN anyways. That timeline could partly depend on color combinations you choose...
