I tried these settings out today and found them to be way too bright for my taste, especially with 3D sound on which I prefer. I went back to the Linus Labs settings which I was previously using, but flattened them slightly to be a little closer to what superfluid recommends. FWIW my music...
Appreciate the links, good to have different options to purchase from ?.
The harness is only provided power when outlets are turned on under the energy menu, it is not constantly running power. Similar to the 12v plug in the gear tunnel.
Back in April, @rhuber posted a thread about adding a 12v plug back in the frunk. Kudos to him for finding the same wiring harness that Rivian uses to wire the frunk lighting and what used to be for the original 12v plug that got discontinued. I mentioned in that thread that I intended to write...
It is pretty simple/straight forward. I did break a couple clips when I first removed it, but bought some replacement clips from Amazon so no harm done. I plan to write up a more in-depth tutorial for wiring a new 12V when I get around to doing it myself.
You do not need to remove the frunk to access the wiring harness. You only need to lift the driver side plastic trim piece to the right of the frunk tub.
Original: Fully wired 12v outlet
Next: No 12v outlet, but wired from the battery to the harness and from the harness to the location of the outlet (with wires taped off)
Next, next: No 12v outlet, only wired from the battery to the harness
Latest/current: ? (I am curious to know if someone can...
You are correct, and this is what I plan to do (have not gotten around to doing it yet though). You need the correct terminals to connect the wires to the harness though, which I could not find anywhere else but from the link the OP posted from Ali Express.
I double checked the anchor and it looks properly seated to me. The part that hooks over the dash doesn't seem to be able to quite reach behind and underneath. Perhaps there is some slight size variation between trucks? Also wondering if the hook portion is even needed, have you tried a version...
The arm that is supposed to hook behind the dash is just a little bit too short, resulting in it not sitting flush against the dash. Any chance it could be made slightly longer?
I haven't tried removing it yet lol. I like the idea that if catches on something being taken out or put in the cubby it will just disconnect the magnet instead of breaking something. It was also the only right angle usb-c to usb-a adapter that would sit flush that I could find.
