Rivian dropped 22” range wheelsets in the gear shop for a cool $4k.
I have a gen 1 R1S with 20” ATs (stock perellis’s) that are great for winter but I don’t want to wear down for summer.
Anyone know what approx range benefit would look like switching between the two? Or other recommendations...
I got the WaaKey app downloaded directly to my APPL watch ultra and successfully paired with my gen 1 R1S. But how do I set up the action button to lock/unlock? Will this only work in BT proximity of the vehicle? I don’t want to inadvertently press it and unlock the car when I’m not anywhere...
So preconditioning is both climate AND battery? I was not clear if battery conditioning was part of this. My understanding is there’s no heat pump, so while driving the battery preconditions by overheating the motors (which freaked me out the first time I saw it happen) then using a cooling...
appreciate the comments from those that understand the objective is skiing, not maximizing range. AT tires, cold temps, snow covered roads and a box to carry gear are fixed variables to accomplish the mission of getting sendy on the mountain. Variables I can/would change are speed, box...
I was tempted! “Ski fast, take chances” is the family motto…
we put 20% charge in at the EA in hood river and I got home with exactly 20% left. Prob would have made it, but the family would have never let me hear the end of it if we didn’t.
Thanks for the reply. Need the box to fit the gear, but am curious about if I put a fairing in front of it how much that would improve the range. Slowing down will prob be the biggest factor, I was going ~75 on the way there through the gorge and that sucked a ton of range up before we even...
Took my large pack R1S quad from NE Portland to Mt Hood Meadows and back yesterday for a family ski adventure. We left with 94% charge for the 190 mile round trip, temps in the high 30’s, dropping to mid 20’s up on the mountain. I have a low profile Inno Wedge rooftop box on the rear two roof...
Yeah, I tried getting the rubber “boot” off but it wasn’t easy. Also couldn’t find much beyond “they’re adjustable”, no descriptions/videos of how others were able to get the rubber boot off, which screws adjusted which tension and when you needed to adjust one vs the other. Felt like I was just...
