  1. Poll: Would you buy your Rivian again?

as an owner of a very early R1S quad I can tell you that worry number 1 isn’t really an issue I even think about. And number 3 is actually kind of the opposite for me, after driving my nephews gen 2 and a few demo drives of tri motors. I much prefer my 1st gen(meridian sound, real door handles...
  2. Top Gear tests an improved / updated Cybertruck off-road (vs R1T they brought along)

So you should have video of both in the same place at the same time right? I’d like to see it to see what’s going on. Isomeone put both on rollers like Dirtcom did with the quad so it would be easy to see how each system reacts I’ve taken mine off road plenty both in Northern California(parts...
  3. Top Gear tests an improved / updated Cybertruck off-road (vs R1T they brought along)

Proof? I’ve seen people state this and I have never seen a credible side by side comparison of actual performance.
  4. California WTB 22” Bright Set of four rims and Tires

I have the 20’s and am looking specifically for the 22’s. Im planning to go to a burlier AT tire on the 20’s and swap to the 22’s for normal day to day driving.
  5. California Sold: WTB 22” Bright Set of four rims and Tires

WTB 22” inch Brights with tires, might consider just rims if the price is right. Looking locally in the Bay Area, preferably north bay.
  6. New 2024 R1T vs 2022 Founders Edition

Couple of things. First, there is no founders edition, that’s a cybertruck thing. You’re probably talking about a launch edition. There aren’t a lot of improvements from the early trucks, in fact it may have some options that you can’t get anymore like 12v outlet in the dash and in the frunk...
  7. The great Chicago Tesla debacle has defeated my father in-law's Rivian ideas... [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Who's the person moderating this thread that deleted my post for it being "political" when it was a response to two posts that were themselves political? Yet I still see those posts in this thread.
  8. In search of the best hitch-mount bike rack for R1S

Well I can tell you that replacing that rear bumper(if it got scuffed or whatever) is around $1900 with the bumper itself being 940.50(recently had mine replaced). But you do have a valid point. I’d say it’s much safer than the regular 1up which just relies on an Allen wrench with a hole in...
  9. In search of the best hitch-mount bike rack for R1S

Well, I don't keep my rack on very often when I'm not using it because of how it interferes with the sensors. As for the theft side, I look at it as a crime of opportunity. So basically, what are the chances that when those few times I have my rack on without a bike will someone happen to come...
  10. In search of the best hitch-mount bike rack for R1S

OK, I think that's probably causing your issue(Using the paclock). To be honest you don't need to use the pin at all, once it's tightened and the lock is engaged there's no chance it's coming out. But here's some pics of what I'm talking about. If you use the pin instead of your paclock...
  11. Performance Dual vs Quad - Acceleration, NVH and other differences?

Well I'm in the Bay Area and am more than happy to let you try my R1S quad back to back with a dual if you can find someone else willing to meet somewhere and check it out. Any Bay Area dual performance owners want to help someone out and maybe just try them back to back for curiosity sakes?
  12. In search of the best hitch-mount bike rack for R1S

Have you adjusted your pin length? I had the same issue as you and solved it by backing out the adjustment all the way. A 1/2 longer bar to support the pin would be ideal but it works as is. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’ll take some pictures tomorrow to show you what I did.
  13. Why do Rivians charge so slow?

I do this math with my wife all the time because for her, all she cares about is how long she has to sit at the charger before she can leave to get home after work if she forgot to charge her car the night before. That being said…. I personally don’t like it because it promotes very narrow...
  14. In search of the best hitch-mount bike rack for R1S

Here's some photos of my bike on the Quikrstuff. As you can see, it fits with plenty of room. The only position you have to worry about is the stowed position because you can't open the tailgate without it hitting. But as a single the stowed position doesn't really save you that much room...
