  1. Half-Shaft issue thread

It's unfortunate for sure. But their comprehensive warranty terms are very lax in comparison to others, with Rivian covering literally everything while within the warranty limits. That said, the half shafts unfortunately aren't considered part of the drivetrain warranty, which to me is a bit of...
  2. Conquering the Coquihalla, Towing 6000# Trailer & Boat, Elevation gain: 3950' 2nd leg, 2780' 3rd leg, No issues - range surprisingly good.

Yeah, the Coquihalla has two big efficiency threats, high speed limits, and lots of climbing. Not too shabby considering. For reference, similar trip in a Gen 1 Quad without trailer, but with a paddle board on the roof...
  3. R2 Range Limitations and Rivian's Response

100% that's the way to go. This trip in particular was meant to have only 2 stops on the way there, we left with 98% so one 26 minutes, and another 9 minutes to arrive at camp with 70% Soc. But the reality was different. Many little stops instead.
  4. R2 Range Limitations and Rivian's Response

I'm fresh off a camping trip from Vancouver - Revelstoke and back in our Gen 1 R1T with a paddleboard strapped to the roof. The route goes up through the Rockies with several extreme elevation changes (anyone familiar with the Coquihalla can attest) and speeds of roughly 125-130kph (77-80mph)...
  5. Rivian’s 2025 Layoffs Behind R2 Delivery Faults, Source Says

My take on this as well. Hard to justify how integral your role was in the company and the reasons for some R2 hiccups, when prior to that, your division was watching over the R1 production line. We've seen how many of those had made it past all the checks only for glaringly obvious issues to...
  6. R2 vs Model Y 70-MPH Highway Range Test (by Out of Spec)

No denying the iX is the better range vehicle, just tossing it in as a comparison between EPA range figures and reality.
  7. R2 vs Model Y 70-MPH Highway Range Test (by Out of Spec)

I double checked just for the sake of his accuracy, and they are 20" aero wheels like stated in the video.
  8. R2 vs Model Y 70-MPH Highway Range Test (by Out of Spec)

For those comparing to the new IX3, it fell short on range tests as well by about 86 miles at 110km/hr (68mph). So goes back to certification tests not reflecting real world conditions. Only 1 person so far has done a real world test thus far. Of note, the iX3 was initially touted as 400 miles...
  9. R2 vs Model Y 70-MPH Highway Range Test (by Out of Spec)

Kinda sucks, was hoping for something closer to the stated range, something which the R1 initially was pretty good at achieving. I'd be curious apples to apples aero wise, which drivetrain would be more efficient?
  10. R2 Delays effecting certain Vins - HV Communications module(?)

As others have speculated, it's likely just something they're used to doing with Gen 1's to get at the penthouse. On Gen 2 packs I understand several of the components were relocated to an accessible port on the underside of the packs to facilitate service. R2, they likely just misspoke.
  11. The GOAT of Rivian R2 reviews IS COMING!

I can appreciate and watch the content while still being a bit taken aback by some of his comments. I understand he's built a business off reviews and being first out there with content is somewhat essential to that business. But, he does come off as an entitled kid that didn't get what he...
  12. Munro Video - The Design of the R2 w/ Rivian's Chief Design Officer

@Administrator not sure if you want to add this to the thread and just make it a Munro R2 video thread.
  13. Front suspension fail

Funny, because even to this day, leasing in Canada still isn't an option, only purchasing.
