After 3 hellish years with a Gen1 quad and a Gen2 Tri, I can say that my F150 Lightning is smooth as butter and whisper quiet! My sanity is slowly returning to me.
All the half-shaft and damper noise and failure is NOT normal.
I do think they perform a bunch of driveline related fixes at these service appointments. I've noticed "Front Halfshafts Other Labor (0.5 Hours)" on my invoice before on an inspection line item.
What Dave said. The crazy thing is how once it starts, even replacing parts is a temp band-aid fix. It comes back and often comes back worse. It's a head scratcher.
The Lucid Gravity looks amazing, but when I learned that they are using air suspension, it became a full non-starter for me. My Tesla air suspension was great, but on both my Gen1 and Gen2 R1Ts I have burned through a total of 8 front dampers and had constant problems. I long for a more...
I'm curious what "calibrated the suspension" actually consists of. Also, do you think this calibration is performed as a part of protocol after replacing dampers? Or is it a different process all together?
I had both front dampers replaced due to "slow internal leaks" inside of 5000 miles on my Gen 2. With those leaking dampers my truck drove like crap...harsh, out of sync, and very noisy in the front. My rear suspension is fine.
Even after the damper replacement, the ride height is all over the...
Same. All Purpose moderate and soft are very rough. Tried a couple hard resets and some suspension "exercises" but no improvement.
Try Sport mode on low / firm and see what you think.
That's great. They replaced the whole front jounce sub-assemblies. This is a hydraulic system. The old one you had restricted flow through to the dampers.
Great to get a small air spring leak fixed, too. That will make a big, noticeable difference for you. One small internal leak can...
That's wild. What did it sound like when it was bad? I'm not familiar how a ting washer would manifest as a noise. My brain goes to a choir of elementary kids playing the triangles.
Anyone have any experience yet with the Gen2 suspension changes?
Went for my first post update drive this morning and the ride was terrible. Harsh, noisy, out of sync, etc. All ride heights and feels were bad. Did this update break my suspension!?!
