Nice - we tend not to speed but nice to have the alerts on accidents and police anyway. Having our annual drive from Vermont to southern Utah over labor day so this will be helpful if it arrives before we leave.
We were able to get 231kw charging speed for a few seconds on the Bow Nh rivian adventure network V1.5 cabinets) with the NACS connector (not the adapter). It didn’t last long but nice to see the high peak charge.
here is a quick update after our R2 spending a couple of days @ the service center trying to understand the petmode overheating issue. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t as warm as it had been so it was not possible to completely replicate the issue. They did check the hvac system, diagnostics and...
have our appt with service tomorrow. Will report on what they find. I initially thought it was just petmode but on the way home found that the cabin temp showed in the app was at least 5 degrees higher than the setpoint. Now maybe the app cabin temp is incorrect but the rivian app cabin temp was...
I talked to service and they are trying to get me in tomorrow to check it out. I recall some R1s (can’t remember whether gen 1 or 2) had hvac with lower charge of refrigerant than at spec so maybe that is related. A few other details. 1) the AC compressor sound was barely audible either inside...
Had same problem with pet mode today. 85 degree outside temp. Car set to 73 auto low fan speed and comfortable on drive to Costco. Enabled pet mode. After about 15 min got a message that cabin was overheated (thank you rivian) and immediately went back to car. Ac running but not enough. Internal...
It is the standard license plate holder installed by rivian service. Let me know if you want a closeup photo of that. We had LA silver on our R1S and R1T and it takes a bit of getting use to the darker color. I think Esker Silver will be a very nice intermediate option but I didn’t want to wait...
You could be right - I was just assuming it based on the label and what Tom said on state of charge re the CCS charger (label below) he used in his 10-80% R2 charging video. He said he used the CCS since it did 600 amps for short periods of time and he ended up melting pin on his adapter.
Yeah it is true is doesn’t lock. I read that the actual charging handle locks when the car is locked. Is there a reason why locking the door is useful? We’ve had a bmw i3 since 2014 and it doesn’t lock either so I guess we are used to that and haven’t had any issues.
Some further impressions from a 10 hour round trip to Boston and back.
- i don’t understand those that say the cup holders flimsy. While they aren’t as sturdy as ones built into the top of a console, they are markedly more sturdy that those in our 2026 R1S.
- Unlike some of the cars our...
