do you have any articles or links as to how Tesla fixed their LFP issues ? And were you tracking the mi / kWh for your MYLR ? Would be interesting to see the actual range for the Y LR in those temps (not just the drop in efficiency)
I don't know what would work for leased cars - actually was in the middle of buying out the lease when the whole range thing hit. Or they could offer the Dual Large for folks who are willing to pay the difference.

This.
100x This.
I’m in the same boat. The one longish trip I took shook my confidence in the range - enough that I am now worried about traveling to upstate NY from NJ. It’s a 200 mi trip one way and there’s a RAN charger 50 mi from my place then nothing. I’d have to go out of my way...
One of the times was a 1.5 hr trip done at 75 mph with the destination set etc. Another was a good 30 mins of pre-conditioning plus another 20-25 min actual trip time. The temps should warm up soon, I guess I will know in a month or two if there's something wrong with the pack/car
Oh I’ve charged from 10% and 15% with the same result. This was with both at a Tesla v4 and also a v3 supercharger. The only thing I can think of is that it was 0F outside.
maybe I need to get a SC appointment
That’s good to know. Perhaps the car looks at outside temps and not just the battery temp. But I’ve tried about a dozen times (with proper preconditioning) to exceed 150 kW during charging and so far nothing. Maybe I’ll wait till warmer weather to see if the pack charges faster
how long does it...
You're in CA so the weather isn't as big an issue as it is with LFP/Dual owners in North East.
Yes you can charge the pack to 100% daily but with colder temps, the car will NOT give you 2.93 mi / kWh that the advertised 270 mile range implies. If you're getting 1.5 mi /kWh from the LFP pack...
Really weird - it’s working now but for a few hours it wasn’t. I checked both app and website and it wouldn’t show the battery temps - but it works now.
Question: Say I was to start driving, as the battery warms up, would the range & capacity recover? I've seen a 1% ~ 3% swing up and down but never something like a 40% swing upwards ...
Of course, it is possible to do a 'Prepare for Fast Charging' but that easily consumes 15 ~ 20 kW to get to...
EDIT: Rivian Roamer just confirmed that the capacity shown here is NOT SoH (State of Health)
Holy $%@#
56.6 kWh capacity from the original 94 kWh ?? That's a 40% capacity loss due to the cold. The battery temp was 12f (we had some cold nights in NJ)
What's interesting is that ABRP does...
I tried an IONNA charger on the trip and it wouldn't even work. Tried at my local supercharger yesterday, put it as the destination after preconditioning the battery - made sure the battery temps were 90f and when I started charging it would not exceed 85 kW.
I don't have anything other than...
I’m
On the trip back I preconditioned for 15 -20 mins, drove to the charger which was ~ 10 miles away and then checked the battery temps (~ 50f). Connected to a V4 charger, saw charge rates of 50 kW and the car threw a 'Vehicle Error' and would not let me unplug the cable. It let go only after...
That's exactly what happened on my NJ to PA trip. It was 148 miles each way and I had to stop and supercharge once on the first trip and then twice (so supercharge to 85% when starting and once between) on the return journey.
Because the truck wouldn't supercharge faster than 70 kW I was stuck...
