  1. Indianapolis to Maine road trip (via Philly and Boston) - 2200 miles

I love my R1T, but I can't bring myself to risk it when we go to Pensacola 2-3 times a year (2,000 mile round trip). Stuff like this is just too annoying. The list of things my son's new Subaru Forester ($35,000) does better than my $95,000 Rivian is too long to even start here. They need to get...
  2. Low Mileage Pre-Owned direct from Rivan

They must have changed that because it said on my purchase agreement it did. Only know that because I'm getting an IRS audit now over claiming the $3750 tax credit in 2024. Just had to send them the purchase agreement documenting the purchase price wasn't over $80,000 (so just read it again).
  3. Low Mileage Pre-Owned direct from Rivan

They do that when being loaned out because many customers don't live close to the SC and might be driving several hundred miles home. In 2024 I bought a 2022 T from Rivian that had 158 miles. Was a great vehicle and qualified as "new" for warranty. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another just like it.
  4. Why stock getting hammered last few days?

Not going to repeat all the excellent points in this thread. IMO, Rivian will be interesting to watch in Georgia. They really need to limit capex spending NOW. If R2 sales don't ramp quickly in 2027 they will need a buyer. Preserving cash gives them options.
  5. Range question for gen 1 2024 R1S quad

Assuming the truck checks out, if you are concerned about range don't stick with the AT tires. Trade them in for a 20in all weather tire (I've owned 2 Ts with AT tires and they stink). They suck in cold weather too. Might be good if you rock crawl, but daily driving they are noisy, don't last...
  6. R1S vs R2 = Tier 1 Luxury vs Entry Level EV?

It depends on your definition of luxury. Of vehicles I've owned the Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover Sport are well above my Rivian Tri Ascend as far as interior quality.
  7. R1S vs R2 = Tier 1 Luxury vs Entry Level EV?

I've only owned Ts, and have seen R2 close up twice. The R2 interior is a little less qualify than R1, but certainly not a Hyundai quality comparable vehicle either. The most striking difference in person is how much smaller the R2 is. It is Subaru Forester or Honda CRV size. Take out the air...
  8. Gen 1 vs Gen 2 Observations

Did the cute blonde come with the loaner?😉
  9. Confirmed: R2 reservation holders will be invited to configure orders in June

I have no idea why Rivian picked grey as the one included with the order, but I'm surprised it wasn't white (I think white was included on my 22 R1T). One third of all passenger vehicles are white & if you add black then you have of all vehicles. At least that is the way it used to be. My...
  10. Compact Spare Tire for R2 priced at $755

Price is high, but high oil prices & tariffs are part of the story. But don't expect prices to go down when those situations resolve themselves. Remember tariffs don't just increase prices on imported items. Some domestic producer is being protected and they raise prices to the import plus...
  11. US Loyalty Rates

I think the aforementioned build quality is the issue. I've said this before, but I'm on my fourth R1T and they all have had rattles & noises my other vehicles don't have. Our Lexus TX cost 30,000 less than my Tri and iphone decibel reading is 10 lower in the TX. For me the T is the perfect size...
  12. Q1 2026 Earnings Results. Georgia Plant Capacity Increased to 300K Vehicles!

I've never understood Rivian being so evasive on these calls. I listen to these sometimes professionally and this one is the new leader in the worst call ever category.
  13. CEO RJ Scaringe gets $403M Pay Package

As soon you read the ownership structure (multiple types of stock), board selection method & composition and then how the pay package was created (and by whom) I will start listening to you. I have loved all four of my R1Ts, but the last thing stockholders needed (I'm not one) is a $400 million...
  14. 2022 R1T G1 Quad 76,000 mile review

My first gen 1 T had over 60,000 when I traded. The black seats were wrinkled more than I expected. My second gen 1 had 35,000 on it, and those black seats looked like new when I traded it. My first gen 2 had 30,000 miles on it when I traded it, and the grey interior was excellent. This one only...
  15. R2 Delivery at Normal, IL Plant?

Things may change again, but they quit doing plant tours over a year ago. I'm in Illinois, but picked up all four of my Ts at the plant.
