The drop glass alone is worth it, throw in everything else and it seems like a no-brainer, especially when already spending that kind of money on a vehicle. If the only thing that matters is cost, you're not buying a Rivian in the first place, youre buying some hideous ass Ioniq whatever.
Considering the possible danger, might be worth having the SC check it out as a test, rather than throwing high voltage current through something that may be compromised.
It only seems to do it on *SOME* highways, for some reason, and I cannot figure out what determines whether the current highway is cool enough for this feature or not, unless maybe there's just something wrong with my particular R1S...
I wish there were more than just Autonomy+ as reasons (in my case) to upgrade from my Gen1... Went through the build and I basically built the same color, same spec R1S, so I am just basically getting fresh paint and Autonomy+ for an additional 40k 😂
Other than the half shaft noise prior to replacement, my 23 R1S has been whisper quiet and rock solid. I drive the absolute piss out of it and am always impressed how little flex/noise I encounter in the cockpit.
I would hope the R2 is as good or better in this regard, as early reports so far...
As someone who has faced this, it seems like the bulk of the posts I see about it are the 2023 models, which makes me think they did make some type of adjustment.
