I'll keep my R1S maxpack reservation, living in Oklahoma I feel that 400 mile range is the minimum... now if it takes more than 2 years for me to get it, there may be other options by then.
I suspect that there will be many aftermarket slides, at half the cost. So give it a little time, and you will be able to get something better for less money.
$1500 is a lot of money for slide like that, can't imagine it costing more that $300 to make.
I have a cybertruck and a lightning on order. As far as maintenance, well there is no grantee that Rivian's will be better, or worse for than Tesla's, and remember you only hear the horror stories when it comes to repairs.
