From an outsider looking in (I have NO special knowledge), I interpret this as Rivian shifting from a significant push to start production of the R2 to actually selling (and servicing) them. This would indicate the company had to hire people to accelerate to get the R2 out and now don’t need as...
Too many people on here take the attitude that there is only one solution for everybody. One pedal driving IS NOT always better And Rivian should allow all options, IMO. I have had an R1T for two years and an Audi eTron for four years. While I have gotten used to the R1T one pedal driving, my...
Was this on your trade-in or the value of the R1 at turn in? In my lease (Florida) it specifically states a residual value to be paid to buy out, otherwise if I turn it in I believe the only deductions are a $500 fee, any excess mileage, any damage, and excessive tire wear.
I got my lease in...
Not clear in the picture but it appears that you could lift it with a standard floor jack without the use of pucks. The required use of pucks for R!’s is always a LIMFAC on who can service these, both in training and equipment.
The Rivian AI voice does not sound grating to me, per se. And I am in Florida, not California. That being said, I find it annoying for the default always being female when the most common form of hearing loss is high frequency (which I have as a documented VA disability). That is why at home...
I expect RA to gain vehicle functionality over time. My guess this was rolled out early without all the envisioned bells and whistles in the interest of sweetening the pot for Connect+ and selling more R2’s.
This finally got me to subscribe to Connect+. Being my R1T is more a daily, around town ride, the other features of Connect+ just did not seem worth it since I would not use them much. But I can see using Rivian Assistant frequently if it pans out as described. It Tipped the balance for me.
Cool! Because of the price I expect most people to wait until their glass breaks, but be patient. Of not, I went to your website and could not swipe the top panels right or left to view them. For instance, the video panel is half off-screen and I cannot adjust that. I am on an iPad with...
Besides the weight of the tailgate, the design probably adds some just based on physics. Unlike many trucks the Rivian tailgate uses extended hinges when down to add length to the bed. This feature was pointed out in an early review video that contrasted it with the likes of Ford and Chevy...
I totally agree on the ride quality. I have a Gen 1 R1T. But I will say Rivian kept tweaking the software since I took delivery and the ride much improved. My first EV was an Audi eTron (still have it) and the ride is much smoother and the wind noise much less. It can also raise and lower...
Since tire rotation is now 9000 miles I wonder if this affects timing for the inspections that were at every 7500 miles. My guess is yes. Although given the Rivians more aggressive tire wear I wonder if extending tire rotation is wise. Maybe this is an effort to reduce workload on SCs? Just my...
Depending on how the Gen 2 connected the cameras, you might have a loose connection at one of them. In my own case I had an issue with a loose connection in a side mirror camera that took out all the cameras because they were wired more in series. Taking these out would add etc other smart...
