2026 is so far! Why not buy Canoo’s Torrence plant?

Blahblah
What's 2026? How would a new plant help? Aren't they still laying off, and isn't the Normal plant shut down or cut to one shift?

The Torrance location is comprised of office space and a shop.
Hi Everyone,

Keep an eye out for this guy. This happened at Topanga Village before the mall opened, while I was at my appointmen. When i reciewed the other videos and my drive cam if he was following me. I found out that he's the car next to me when i parked. He got in his car and 2 minutes later, when he was leaving the lot, he stopped at my car just to put dents and scratches. ğŸ˜ž. I filed a police report already, but I'm not so hopeful that he will get my car fix. I just hope that he won't do this to others

Can't remember where I found the link and after searching, haven't found references to it on the forums. While we can’t go to the official reveal in person, looks like we’ll be able to drop by afterwards. You can reserve below to check out the R2 in person that evening from 6pm onwards at the Laguna Beach Theater:

Hey folks,

I purchased my Rivian from a private party a bit over 6 weeks ago and the car has transferred ownership to me both via Rivian and the DMV.

I've been charging my car at home via a third-party charger that's 40A off of a 240V outlet and designed for use on a Tesla. I use an adapter to connect it to the Rivian.

I went to check my charge stats today via the app on my phone and noticed there's nothing there, even though I've already been charging my R1S for over a month at home.

After contacting Rivian Support, I learned this is because I'm not using a Rivian-branded charger that would have a wifi login and transfer charge stat data to the cloud and then to my phone.

So, does anyone know of any other way of getting the charge stat data? I'm mainly interested in knowing how many kW I've used up in a month over how many miles. Ideally, I can also get stats on costs when I put in what my utility charges for super offpeak hours charging, but I can do that on my own too so long as I have the other two data points.

Any suggestions?

Special Request of the RCA Family

Here at Rivian Clubs of America we are working hard to create a wonderful community of people who, with their families, go out into the world, have fun, experience nature and make the world a better place. Over the past year there has been a tremendous growth around the country of Member Rivian Clubs with owners having a great time getting together and experiencing that sense of community.
It is in the sense of that community that I would like to reach out to all of our wonderful participants and ask for help. Help for a community member and her daughter. Many of us know Kendra as RivianMom and she has been instrumental not only in creating a thriving Kansas City RC, but has been integral in creating graphics for events for clubs around the country.

Recently Kendra and I have found another connection that we share. We are both Kidney Donors. In 2000 I donated a kidney to my father, and while he has since passed a few years ago, we had extra time together. It is a tough but rewarding experience and one that I would not trade.
Kendra, Olina’s mom is an organ donor herself. Kendra donated a kidney to her oldest daughter in 2016.

Which brings us to my ask of this awesome community:

Within the last month Kendra’s youngest daughter Olina has been diagnosed with the final stages of End Stage Renal Disease. Kendra, and her husband John live in Kansas City with their four children.
Olina was put on the list for a transplant on January 10th and the family is taking a very active approach looking for a live donor as they await a deceased donor from the list. Finding a live donor is critical to avoid dialysis. While the rest of the immediate family cannot donate, you can help.

We at the RCA wanted to lend a hand and reach out to everyone to not only spread the word, but seek a live donor from our ranks. We are partnering with the University of Kansas Health System who have provided some information that we will link to here. If after watching the video and reading about the Living Kidney Donation system at the University of Kansas Health System, you want to talk to the RN that will be helping to match Olina with a donor, you can reach out to Samantha Brennen, RN, BSN directly for further information about how to save a life.
We are asking that you take part in the Kidney Chain Program developed at the University of Kansas to make sure that the donation has the best chance of success. When I donated a kidney to my father I was a good match, 4 out of 6 proteins that they use to determine the likelihood of the recipients body accepting or rejecting the transplant. Kendra was a 6 out of 6 with her daughter the first time around.
Often when you are next up on the list you are receiving a donated kidney from someone who has just passed away and donated their organs, however with that system there is no time to wait for the right match. This is where being part of a larger group of people wanting to donate really helps out. With the Kidney Chain Program, even if you are not a match for Olina, you may be a match for another recipient who may have a person willing to donate, but they too are not a match, but because each recipient has a person who is willing to donate and save a life, the potential for a match increases the longer the chain becomes. With this decision, you will not only be helping to save Olina’s life, but you are potentially helping to save several other people simultaneously. Who knows, there might even be another RCA community member who needs a kidney right now…

I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for taking time out of your busy day to consider this act of love and community. If you do decide to become a donor you will join the ranks of the Awesome One Kidney Club!

guess I'd need to find a "nearby" RV campground to overnight on Wed PM in order to participate in the Thurs trail ride. I'd love to take my OBi Dweller adventure camper but don't want to leave SD like 3AM Thurs. Wonder if there's a way to secure that some plot of 30'x20' on Wed in order to dry camp onsite that evening.

For a bit of clarification:

KOH can be done for free
There is a very specific ev only group ride/ experience that optima is offering.

If you don’t want/care to participate in the EV specific stuff/ don’t see yourself wanting the additional amenities you can still participate in most of the king of the Hammers stuff directly and buy a cheaper ticket for just KOH. They offer a camping pass in “HammerTown” for 50-100 bucks.

If that is still too much you can still camp for free in areas that are a bit further from KOH, but Johnson valley itself is BLM and supports dispersed camping

Took delivery of my R1T in Costa Mesa. Looking for a waterproof key option other than the credit card. Need something I can take with me surfing. Any options out there? I saw there was a bracelet but apparently it’s not offered anymore?

I'm going to need something as well for scuba diving but if the card is resistant, I should be good. Sometimes I wear a dry suit so even the fob could survive. I'm hoping not to use a box. If I take the wrong car that doesn't have a valet key I sometimes just leave the car unlocked. The rivian is obvious though with those door handles. Maybe car wash mode

Has anyone used any of the Rivian Certified Collision centers? I got into an accident on Saturday, and want to take it to one of them. ASG (think that was the name) in North Hollywood is the closest to me, none in Ventura county yet. But if anyone has any recommendations please share.
Cheers,

I have not, persay. But, when Rivian had to replace my liftgate under warranty, they sent my vehicle to Jim and Jacks Collision Center in El Segundo. They did a great job. Also, my dad had gotten into an accident last year and got his Ford Taurus fixed at the same shop and they did a great job with it.
BigPack
I scheduled a lift gate service, as I noticed it was installed misaligned and started wearing out paint in the left corner. What was your reason for a liftgate replacement?
Chewy734
Chewy734
@BigPack Mine was misaligned, but also had a dent on the black trim piece at delivery. So, they needed to replace the whole liftgate because it’s all one piece. My panel alignment is much better too (although not perfect).
TheHedgehog116
You're talking about AGC Collision in North Hollywood on Vineland Ave. I literally just picked up my truck from them yesterday. I worked with Tony to replace my tailgate because someone reversed into me. I gotta say they do great work there and respond to emails quickly. They work on Rivians a lot. I've been there 3 times and each time I've seen a minimum of 7 R1T/R1S in their lot being worked on so you can tell they're well experienced with our vehicles. Just be prepared to hear the quote to replace your panel cuz if you're paying out of pocket it won't be cheap.

Jim and Jacks is great too, but I'm from Ventura County like you and the drive to Burbank is a whole lot easier and less stressful than driving on the 405 to El Segundo.

@TheHedgehog116 Yeah, she is there, dropped off 9/25, they're still waiting on some parts. I also dealt with Tony, and was comforting seeing all the Rivian's in the lot when I first went. The quote was $14K and some change, and 2/3 was labor which is to be expected with how the price of things are outta control. They submitted a supplemental to my insurance to then send to the other side. Denise is super responsive when it comes to emails.

Once the repair is complete I am going to talk to my adjuster about going after their insurance for "Diminished Value", saw a post on Reddit about it. I haven't even had the truck a year and this is going to affect the value if I went to sell it. Just going to get an opinion from my insurance company on it. I'd never heard of it before.

@MrTopher Getting small updates weekly from AGC, and got a partially uplifting email today, it is in re-assembly but needs to go to Rivian for Calibration and they can't get my truck in until 11/22... So depressing, it'll be 2+ months.
May not make it to this event, but look forward to any upcoming events in San Diego or No. County area. Husband and I are looking to take a beginning off road class specific to R1T if anyone knows of any local opportunities.

I'm in San Marcos, and I'm interested in similar. I've seen an offering by The Driving Company, they actually have a couple of Rivian-only days booked out. I think if we can get 8 folks from the SD area we can organize a one-off class just for us

Havent seen a club or forum for Northern CA so hoping to learn more on the RS1 from the SoCal group. Just picked our RS1 up on 9/22 after a two year wait. Very disappointed the accessories were not included with pick up, nor the ability to add a second driver at install was not available on app and the car shut down at first parking stop for an upgrade/reboot. Would have thought there would be more care & personalization at the South SF pick up location for $100k car. Learning lots on accessories to buy and welcome any ideas as we get started.
