Kinda? I'm getting the Tesla Universal Wall charger instead -- even tho today I don't have a Tesla nor do I have plans to yet to buy a car that supports NACS. By doing this, I feel like it future proofs things since if I get a 2nd EV car in the future that only supports the NACS (Tesla standard), I don't need to run out and buy a J1772->NACS adapter for the Rivian charger to use it.

Likewise if I ever sell my home and the new home buyers have a Tesla, they don't have to deal with using their NACS->J1772 adapter which might make them want to buy my home vs another home.

I am selling mine as I already have a fast charger installed at my place... my Rivian wall charger is still unopened in the box. DM me if still interested.

My wife got into a fender bender in my R1T, and it needs some body work. Would you recommend that I go with the Rivian Service Center or a Certified Collision Center body shop for repair?

Thanks to the Bay Area Rivian Club member who gave my kid some stickers at the Lincoln City Oregon RAN a few days ago! (Let the kid borrow it for the first time to go camping, they stopped at that RAN to top off on their way. Surprisingly no new dents - that I’ve found yet.)

Camp Speaker not charging when in slot? Do I need to charge it from a usb home wall charger, as the seems to light/power it on before I can return it to its cradle?

I have the same issue. They have also recently remove the charge status of the speaker from the display.
Anyone else having a problem formating and/or the final speed test to setup the USB-C flash drive to setup your security video feature? I've tried 3 different drives even had to find a special 128gb USB-C connector flash drive, but that didn't for either! What's the secret or is this another Rivian defect?

I had no issues with mine. I bought a SanDisk 1TB Extreme Go SSD from Costco and plugged it in and it worked the first time.

Charging Dilemma? Currently using a 60a Breaker 240v on a Nema 1450 Receptacle and getting about 15 mi/hour charge rate. I was looking at a Juicebox 40 and their specs show a 20mi/hour charge rate. I called Rivian and they claim their OEM Charge Box charges at 25mi/hour rate. I found a Juicebox 40 for about $300 online, but they want a min of $500 for the OEM Rivian, what's the consensus on chargers?

The Juicebox 40 can deliver a maximum of 40 amps whereas the OEM Rivian can deliver a maximum of 48 amps. What that translates into is that the Juicebox 40 can deliver at a 20mi/hour rate.

Here's a screen grab from a YouTube video that I found that shows the throughput of various level 1 & 2 charging options and speeds.

Congratulations are in order I flew down to LA Monday and drove my 2022 R1T Launch Edition home to Northern CA! Love the Truck <3 Hate Electrify America for their defective charging network and fraudulent charging rates and defective payment system! I emailed and called Electrify America and EMailed the Corporate Offices with no response!

I just got my R1S last week and I'm new to EV so I'm still trying to get a feel for how far the car can go without recharging.

I'm thinking of attempting to do the "4x4 lost coast trail" following the route in the Overland guide - https://www.overlandtrailguides.com/post/lost-coast-adventure-route

Just curious if anyone has attempted it and if so, where did they end up charging?

Congrats on the R1S! I'd recommend acquainting yourself with the Rivian app Planner. I used this on a recent trip from SF Bay to Calgary, Canada and it worked quite well. Just enter your destination, your starting parameters (location and SOC), and how much charge you wish to have on arrival. Only caveat is that you should confirm 3rd party charger status with their individual apps since the Rivian app does not always show up-to-date status of 3rd party chargers.

The weekend after I got my Rivian, I took it up to Mt. Shasta and used ABRP to map everything out and I pretty much stuck to it. I noticed that ABRP was a bit conservative in terms of the energy that I had left when I arrived at the destination (but I was also driving in conserve mode).

For this trip, however, most of it, I *think* I'll be driving most on dirt roads and maybe crossing some streams. Maybe do some driving on sand too, so off road mode? Not sure how much that affects the battery (vs driving in all purpose).
What's the best way to travel with a large dog with my Rivian, especially with the heat? The Rear Seat sling or is there a better idea?

I'm picking up my R1T from SoCal Next week! Is there a website to see RAN Chargers so I can preplan my return trip to Sac?

New Rivian R1T Owner here, I can't wait until 2024 to get a Rivian CCS to tesla NACS Adapter. I called Rivian today and their Customer Support personnel did not know what I was talking about! Seriously?

I currently have a Tesla Wall Charger and want to get the proper adapter so I can charge my Rivian at home and on the road using Magic Dock and the Tesla Supercharger Network.

Specifically what adapter do I need? I was told by Tesla to check Amazon, and Rivian said the same thing however Amazon doesn't list that configuration, unless I am missing something?

If you can send me a link to the aftermarket Rivian to Tesla adapter I would appreciate it!

@GWNavigator ok, how do you know? and how do you set your Tesla home charger to charge non-Teslas? 3rdQuestion? Will this work on Tesla Superchargers or only the Magic Dock ones?
GWNavigator
@Cafireman I know because when I tried, my wall charger would not work with my Rivian despite many websites saying it is compatible. I dug around (not enough) long enough to say f*** it, and got my Rivian wall charger installed, replacing my Tesla charger (at that time the Rivian charger was in my Rivian pre-order for a long time and I didn't want to change my order so I got it delivered with my R1S). Afterwards someone informed me of the 'authorization' feature built into the Tesla charger. You can read about it here: https://www.tesla.com/support/gen-3-wall-connector-access-control

Try it with the adapter - if it doesn't charge your Rivian it is probably due to this setting.

If you are asking if the Tesla-to-J1772 adapter allows you to use Tesla's superchargers, the answer is no. It will allow you to use slow Level 2 Tesla home/wall chargers or slow Tesla 'destination' chargers (also Level 2), but not the Superchargers, which are Level 3. The big person-sized Tesla chargers you see in parking lots are all Level 3 Superchargers and they will not work - except for the relatively tiny number out there that have the Magic Dock - very few and far-between. The only Magic Dock-equipped chargers within all of California are in Scott's Valley and Placerville. Magic dock Superchargers can plug right into your Rivian without an adapter since the 'adapter' is built into the Magic Dock. That's what the Magic Doc is, actually - an adapter that pops out and is locked onto the charger tip if you choose non-Tesla (CCS) charging, but is a standard Tesla connector if you just pull out the nozzle for Tesla charging.

Apologies in advance if I am explaining stuff you already know.
Anyone from Bay Area have a 20" AT spare they are wishing to sell?

New potential Rivian R1T owner, looking for a 2023 or 2022 Launch Edition Model available for sale in the area. Anyone know of anyone selling or wanting to sell their R1T? I've checked Northern and Southern CA but most ads are for overpriced dealers trying to make a quick buck. Please feel free to message me if you know of any private sale listings. Thanks
