Looking great! I'm located in Pittsburgh. Not many Rivians out this way, but hoping to see more as well!
So for those of you realizing you need a PA state inspection, I just had mine done along with a tire rotation at D'Avicos Auto Repair in Wayne. They were great! They have a set of the jack pucks so no need to bring/buy them.

I finally got mine done at Quicklane in Lemoyne in the Harrisburg area. They have lifts with the jack points so they didn't need to use my jack pucks.

I had bought my own pucks a while aback and let the qyst tire center in Media do my rotations. Has anyone had to purchase new tires yet? If so are any of you considering changing to 20" or 22" tires since there are only 1 option for the 21" tire.

Right now the General Chemical washer fluid is sold out. I was going to get a case (4x1 Gal) the next time it’s available. If anyone wants to go in on additional cases to save on shipping let me know. I’m in Chester County, I’m sure we could find a “meet in the middle” place to do the delivery.

Just out! March issue of Consumer Reports (p.50). Fingers crossed for their April auto issue and would be sweet if they awarded the coveted "Recommended Checkmark".

Spread the word.

See attached.

PS:
Unfortunately, C.R. crushed the R1S in its October 2023 issue. WTF, UGH

I have been a C.R. advocate for 40 years ...this hurts.

MajickDada, thank you for starting the Pennsylvania Club!

I was reading R1Thor's comment on 1-8-24 about Pennsylvania's dumb dealership laws.

Post from R1Thor
" Good to see more people in the area with Rivians! Now we just need PA to stop being dumb with their dealership laws so we don't have to drive to Gaithersburg :D !

I had no idea that currently Tesla basically has a monopoly in PA. I live in West Chester (southeast PA, suburbs of Phila). I have been very surprised I still don't not see many Rivians. Well, now I know why.

From House Co-Sponsorship Memoranda below
" As you may recall, the General Assembly passed Act 125 of 2014 to allow Tesla Motors to sell their electric vehicles directly to the public." [only Tesla can sell at this point]

The good news is, I found that a local congressman from nearby West Grove (Representative John Lawrence) is already at work on revising PA's Act 125 of 2014!

House Bill 1907 (see link below) is in the works but seems to be preceding very slowly. I think all of us need to make our voices heard to get this bill past. I actually would like Rivian owners across the country to speak out if possible.

WHAT CAN YOU DO? CONTACT REPRESENTATIVE JOHN LAWRENCE!

Contact | PA State Rep. John Lawrence (replawrence.com)

I have attached my own message to Rep John Lawrence in the attached Word doc. Feel free to use some of my contact to make it easier to both thank him and show your concerns about the current situation in PA.

Thank you all! Appreciate any feedback you have.

I have been ideating this very thing.
I want to expand upon this and (hopefully) reach out to ALL of my local, state, and federal reps.

I think the argument needs to go beyond "Well, Tesla is doing it" and appeal to all political leans. That is: needs to state how bringing Rivian Service centers and show rooms will increase job opportunities (and ideally not detract from adjacent businesses). I think it needs to state that our taxes are already going to be recouped via the $290/year we're going to be spending in EV imposed taxes (that HAS already passed). And insofar as our trucks are verily heavy, we spend $404 to register them annually (as opposed to the $35 it costs to register a 'normal' car).

I'm sure there's some other data and research we can add to this that would make a compelling argument for all; I've just not had the opportunity or wherewithal to start penning it.

I've also had some pretty terrible (canned, uninformed, and typically dismissive) responses from officials' aides in the past when sending letters, so I want to try to make a poignant argument that's harder to ignore. I think it'd also be helpful to add something along the lines of "we already have X # of Rivian owners in the Commonwealth as of this writing; all you're doing is deterring innovation and growth, but you aren't stopping it. So let's find a common ground to allow all parties the advantages we can glean from improving our state." Or some such...

Bought a BMW 2002 in 1973 and every BMW that passed me would wave...an acknowledgment of the uniqueness of the brand (at that time!). It's happening again with my R1T, waves and headlight flashes abound in and around my Chester County neighborhood.

BTW, love my RiT. Even my wife "you buy that cyberbully truck and it gets parked in the barn!" likes it. Out of curiosity, I drove a Lightning yesterday. Nice truck, cavernous back seat and larger bed, but found it ponderous. Would hate to park it in tight parking lots.

Rivian waves need to be a universal and consistent thing!

I wave all the time, and throw shakas, and flash my high beams if I can't get my windows down in time. I think it's been returned like...twice :(

That said, we have a family friend with the F150 Lightening. It's not bad (everything you want out of an F150), but the fact that they're not achieving their advertised range is concerning.

Depends on when it was you saw me, but for sure that's one of the routes I take coming home!
I work in Maryland (just north of Baltimore) and live up near the Manheim Auto Auction, so at least 2 days a week, I'll be coming up 83, onto 30, and then use Prospect, 741, or head all the way out to Manheim Pike to get home (Waze usually figures out which way is best traffic-wise).

Good to see more people in the area with Rivians! Now we just need PA to stop being dumb with their dealership laws so we don't have to drive to Gaithersburg :D !

Welcome to our regional Pennsylvania Rivian Club! I am a R1S pre-order holder and received my Launch Edition Forest Green with Forest Edge interior as of March 2023. I waited 2.5 years for this baby and have been very happy so far ! I mostly wanted to start this just to see how many of us are local to the region and trade local tips and tricks on charging sites, trails, experiences, and even auto detailing specialists for those interested.

This group will hopefully attract
like minded individuals to help shape our activities. If you are interested in helping organize and curate activities, then by all means, please speak up and happy for your help and ideas ???

Villanova here, got my R1S back in April. I'm more of a sports car guy myself, hoping the Rivian becomes my wife's daily driver. But would be curious to do modest offroading somewhere in eastern PA if folks have recommendations.

My previous 2 vehicles were a 2014 Subaru STI Hatch and then a 2018 Volvo V60 Polestar Engineered. (I like hot hatches). I would've kept the Polestar and bought my R1T if I was wealthy, but this was a borderline irresponsible buy.

That said, I don't miss the Polestar nearly as much as I thought I would (I do miss the STI a bit more..). R1T is my daily, and I LOVE it.

I haven't had the opportunity to Offroad yet, but I'm itching... I need to get a set of ATs (going to anyway to double as my winter tires). I'll probably try one of the courses at Rausch Creek: https://offroad-consulting.com/regi...oducts/101-class-off-road-driving-experience1
Washington Pa, 45 miles southwest of Pittsburgh. stealth ppf and ceramic coating. also tinted the windows.
