I apologize if this is not the appropriate place to post, but I installed the running board and wanted to share some of its features here.

Features

Perfectly Fit:
Enhance your Rivian R1T/R1S fully customized running boards. Designed to perfectly fit the Rivian R1T/R1S 2022 and 2023 2024 2025 models, the width of the pedal is 17.5 cm, making it easy for people to step on and off the vehicle.

Durable and Safe: Made from high-carbon steel with an anti-slip design providing additional safety, delivering superior strength and wear resistance compared to conventional running boards. It has minimal impact on ground clearance and reduces the risk of damage when driving over rough terrain.

High-strength bearing capacity: Hansshow Rivian running boards are engineered to provide hassle-free access to your vehicle while maintaining superior strength and stability. With a maximum weight capacity of 400 kg, these steps are designed to securely support you and your passengers.

Easy DIY installation: Installation is straightforward, bolt-on design, and DIY friendly. No extra parts or specialty tools are required. No permanent modifications to the truck frame structure are required

You can use my discount coupon to purchase a standard or power running board here if you are interested. This coupon code offers 25% off. This is a Black Friday deal; it will end on December 1st, after which you will only receive your regular discount. RIVIAN is the discount code. https://www.hautopart.com/collections/rivian-r1t-r1s

Is it 11-4 or 10-4? I just got an email from Rivian that I apparently can't screenshot and add to this post which says it's from 10-4.

Does anyone know where I can get a leak in a 22” tire fixed in NoVA (preferably someplace relatively close to Arlington)? I’m having a really hard time getting any of the garages/tire shops to do it. Some shops want to put the vehicle on a rack, but can’t lift the 7,000 lb R1S. Others don’t want to use the floor jack for some reason, even though I have the jack pucks. It’s a multi-week wait for Rivian mobile service. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Arlington Autocare was able to address my issue. There was a nail in the sidewall, so ended up with a new tire. Turns out Arlington Autocare has worked on other Rivians.

I know this is an old threat, but adding to it that ABS Automotive in Fairfax has a lift capable of the weight. They did a tire rotation on my R1T. Charged me $115 for it since it was the first one they did, and had to spend a bit of extra time learning and making sure the vehicle’s system was good to go before/after they did it. I had to bring my own jack pucks though. This was done over a month ago and no issues since.

where do you take your R1s for inspection in Fairfax/Loudon county areas. i need to get my R1S inspection done

Progressive Automotive in Hamilton. By law they can't make appointments for inspections, but if you make an appointment for a tire rotation, they can do the inspection at the same time. You can also just park it in the line the night before or in the morning, but the line can sometimes get to capacity by 9am during popular times.

Had mine done at the Shell near Merrifield (Fairfax). Fast. No problems. The inspector loved it, had a lot of questions, was careful, and took about the same time as usual.
I have EVBase Running Boards for the R1T to sell. I bought my R1T with 800 miles on it. The truck came with the EVBase running boards. I prefer not to use them. They are $599 new. They look great and they are rock solid. I'll sell and deliver my "experienced" EVBase running boards for $450. I'll help you install them for another $100. They look great, your shorter family members will thank you, and you'll be all in for $550. I'm in Alexandria. Please reach out to coordinate a date and location for me to deliver in N. VA, DC or suburban MD. 703-587-5856

You know what really grinds my gears?

When people post an event location by City/Town/Municipality or Business/Location name only.

I don't know where Poolesville is. Maybe me not knowing means I'm too far away and shouldn't attend, but if it said Poolesville, KY, I'd have a LOT more information to go on... Where's Glaswerks? What's a Glaswerks?

Like..this is nonsense. At least you said "Coal Township, PA" But hilariously, that's the ONE place I'm actually familiar with!
Oldsmobile_Mike
Oldsmobile_Mike
Poolesville, Maryland, I assume? I only know the name because I had a friend who lived up there 20 years ago, LOL.

Shame there isn't anything closer to Northern Virginia yet. I'd go to one in Tysons or Fairfax. Or Prince William County area. Hopefully someday! 🙂

Does anyone want a Gear Guard Double-Sided children's shirt, size 10, in Navy? One found its way to me and it's too small for my youngest... I'd like to find it a good home. I'm in Vienna and can meet somewhere close, but I'm not going anywhere weird, like, Maryland.

For those with running boards or rock sliders, my longtime family friend Danny Delsignore owns an everything auto and fabrication shop out in Bluemont, VA and is doing running board or slider installations for $300. Additionally, if you are in the shop for running board installation, he can do a full tire rotation for $50.

There have been about 10 folks on the DMV Rivian and MARC Facebook groups that have used Danny's services. His work is exceptional and can work on anything automotive-related.

Give him a shout should you need services. Danny @ Green Tree Auto Fab. 703-606-3943

FYI… for those curious about getting to/from Canaan Valley or Timberline ski resorts. It’s a charging desert in that part of WV. I charged to 308 (Conserve Mode) miles at Front Royal RAN. Drove the 108 miles to Timberline Mountain. Upon arrival, R1T said I had 135 miles of range left. I chalk that up to it being 35-40 degrees out, and gaining over 2,000 feet of elevation.

For the return, it gave me a 5h 30m itinerary via a Level 2 charger in Maryland and then a high speed charger along I-270.

my boys convinced me to instead drive a little slow, especially on the uphill sections, to get back to the Front Royal RAN. It worked. Left Timberline with 135 miles of range left. Drove the 108 miles to Front Royal. Arrived there with 29 miles of range left. Saved me over 2 hours.

Gotta get more RAN. West Virginia is a great Adventure state, fit their brand. (Any high speed charging would be great, but RAN still best experience -speed, reliability, availability - and price so far.)

Yea, WV is crazy with how few charging locations are there. The easy answer was always that it is a heavy coal state and EV chargers kind of go against that, but I remember seeing now that the state is really heavy in solar so you would think they would go for some EV chargers, especially the tourist spots like all the resorts.
McBogey
McBogey
WV also have built a lot of wind farms. But my guess (and it is simply a guess) is that few in WV buys or owns an EV (cost?) and thus businesses don’t think about putting in chargers. Sort of a chicken and egg thing. But if the ski resorts, state parks, small town businesses put in more L2 chargers, that would be a huge help. Wonder how long until they made money off them too.
Hi All - for those experiencing wind noise from the passenger side/drive side; one solution could be calibrating the windows.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I have wind noise from the drivers window and put a ticket in, but keep kicking it down the calendar because I don't want to be without the SUV for the week they estimated to fix

I would ask Rivian; I doubt that any of the R1 owners on this site could answer specific questions about the van at this point.

Thanks for the referral! I just had GT Peace rotate my R1S 20" AT tires today after 12,500 miles. They were great to work with and I was in and out in about an hour. The front tires had 10/32" tread and the rears had 11/32" tread left. I did bring my own pucks. Price was $65.07 after tax. I've been primarily road driving with occasional gravel/dirt road use. Hoping to get at least 30k out of these tires.

SHOP RECOMMENDATION

I just had my tires replaced and alignment reworked on my R1T. If you missed it, I posted last week about bald tires and what I thought was a bad alignment. Rivian did an alignment for me on 9/8 with everything leaving in the green. As of yesterday, toe was very far in on all 4 corners. They checked it at Low and Standard heights. All within spec.

I used GT Peace Automotive in Chantilly, VA. They provided excellent service and support, accommodated my requests without hesitation, and provided outstanding communication. They have a touch-less tire machine, Hunter RoadForce Balancer, and Hunter Hawkeye Elite alignment machine, which is among the best equipment in the industry.

  • Tire mount/balance = ~$45/tire
  • Alignment for Rivian = $199
  • Tire rotation = $60 (can be discounted when coupled with other services)

*Prices subject to change.*

If you need an alignment, ask for Deren (pronounced like Darren). He’s GT Peace’s shop foreman and former Mach V Motorsports Mastertech, and is hands-down one of the best at factory and custom alignments in the area.

They currently do not have jack pucks, so please be sure to bring your own set.

New to the group and happy to have a source of help when encountering issues with my new Rivian.

Question: my wife hears air coming thru the passenger side door when driving above 65 miles per hour (highway) is this normal?

Not normal. You need to get your window seals replaced. If you press a finger at the top corner of the triangle glass seal, where the corner of the window glass meets, and hear more wind noise, you need that whole seal replaced.

Mine is getting replaced on Tuesday.
R1Thor
R1Thor
@connoisseurr has it. I just had both of my front triangle windows and seals replaced for this very reason, and the rest of the seals in the area adjusted. My drivers door was also re-seated (but that's actually now an issue, because it doesn't sit flush with adjacent panels and the rear drivers side door, so now I have to go BACK to get that fixed...one at a time!).

Hello neighbors! I am thinking of getting the running boards (RMaxx from EV Sport). Does anybody recommend a qualified install shop in the DMV that could install them for me? Thank you!
