Hello - I am looking at leasing an R1S soon as deals have gotten even better. Hoping this forum can help with a few questions:

Wondering what your experience has been with taxes, license plate fees and any other expenses when closing your lease deal?

Does Rivian provide fair trade-in values or are you better off doing private sale or other offer sites (Carmax, Carvana, etc.)?

Have you been able to get the Colorado $5k Innovative Motor Vehicle credit for your vehicle - or at least have confidence you will receive with 2024 tax return?

Are the 21" tires ok for Colorado conditions, or are the 20" a 'must have'?

Appreciate any insights you have. Thanks!

I shopped around on trade-in and Rivian was the best offer by about 10%. Note: I went to the showroom in Denver and they quoted my trade-in higher that Rivian did online. The salesman put in a ticket to override the trade in offer to the higher amount. YMMV.

No, Innovative Tax Credit on my lease numbers yet so I’m thinking I’ll catch that one when I file taxes. I’ve read that we should get that but I’m not a tax expert.

Tires depends on how you drive.
Hello All,

I just purchased a R1S and have a brand new 20" All-Terrain Brights wheel set for sale. Note, Rivian has discontinued these wheels. So that's four 20" All-Terrain Brights, that are no longer available through Rivian and including the Pirelli Scorpion AT tires, with less than 100 miles on them.

Located in Denver
Local pickup only
Asking $5,000 for the set.

Last week, I used the off-road rooftop tent from Open Road 4WD for a thrilling off-road trip. The experience was absolutely fantastic!hard shell rooftop tent

Hi Folks! I picked up my R1S at the end of December. It looks like I only have one 12v socket and it is located in the trunk. I tried to open a ticket to have one installed under the dash and in the frunk but I was told that the SC won't retrofit them. Does anyone know a shop that can do it? If not, I'll pursue the OBDII route. Thanks in advance.

Where are you trying to put one?

Thanks. I've been enjoying the R1S during this crazy winter. I've seen a couple of posts where people retrofitted but I'm not confident in my abilities nor do i have the tools. Rather not mess something up at this point. As for the locations, I was planning to place them in their original spots as best as possible. For under the dash, I'm flexible since there isnt a "hole" for it.

Some of the threads are quite step by step. However, if you’re uncomfortable with it, you’ll need some kind of custom shop. My first stop would be 4 wheel parts shops which are located throughout Denver

Does anyone have an explanation on why there is a brief gap for Driver+ on I-70 heading to and from the airport? My curiosity is a problem.

Yes, more specific would be helpful. 1-25 east to Pena and the return.
I think the tunnel idea is the correct one, it is a longer stretch of underpass under the old Stapleton runways which is long enough to qualify as a tunnel apparently.

Thank you both!

Are you in the express lane? That only started working for me a few months ago

Does anyone feel like this truck does not do well with ice mitigation? IDk if it was just this last storm on Sunday but our LED headlights and wipers were all jammed up with ice and the front sensors were going crazy when they had snow on them. Part of the problem was the sensors would not stop with the tone even though I got the initial warning that they needed to be cleaned off.

That’s really the case with any vehicle using LEDs. As for the wipers, put your windshield defroster on. It puts out more than enough heat to keep your wipers clear, but you need to use them early.

I’m trying to remember if I got an alarm on my sensors stating they would be disabled or not. Like your other issues, its common on most cars.

Has anyone found a shop to do alignments besides the Denver SC? I’ve called everywhere after Firestone tried and failed.

Hello -
I got my email letting me know that my 6/21 R1S pre-order will be on the way soon. I'm working on the 8 steps and I'm super excited! I am curious if anyone can give me some good suggestions on where to go to get ceramic tinting? I want the front windows to look identical to the back. Please let me know how your experiences have been. And post any photos too. I would greatly appreciate the input. Thank you!!!!

Anyone want Sirius XM on your Rivian????
Contacted Johnathan at Vaistech in Denver
They have created mult SXM interfaces to date.
https://vaistech.com/
They just need to inspect an R1T in Denver to create the interface for SXM for Rivian owners.
Shout out to Denver Rivian owners: anyone want to help us get SXM for the Rivian community?
If so, please reach out:

Hello,
I'm new to this group. I hope I am not asking something that has already been answered. I live in Boulder, where I've seen many Rivians. I'm scheduled for delivery the 4th quarter. I am not clear on the sales tax rate when purchasing an R1S. Looks like is around 9%, is that correct?
Thanks

Getting her ready for a 1000 mile adventure out west for some beach visits. So far I'm impressed with the route planning the ABRP is suggesting. I'll report how it all goes along the way. Lets keep growing this great Colorado group.

Hello! Does anyone have a place they would recommend putting some PPF and vinyl decals on in the Denver/Boulder area?

I used Sigma Kore too. Also took it back for @AO_Pete blacked out badging. Shae isn’t the shop manager anymore, but they’re definitely located and known because they do so much of the Broncos players cars.

Denver Auto Shield. Hands down the best experience I’ve had from initial rations, through booking, drop-off, and pick-up. PPF and service was exceptional.

Does your R1S fit in your garage? Hello anyone in the Littleton area that would be willing to come by my home with their R1S to ensure that it will fit in my garage?

thank you for the input if the tape doesn't lie, I should have about 30" left in front of the S, high is fine, and the width I'll have to fold the mirrors in. My wife has an outback so theoretically we should be fine, we'll find our real soon

@DBL-R 30" is more than plenty of space. You should be fine given your Subaru is already 191" long and Rivian R1S is only 10" more than that.

@DBL-R Your R1S thanks your F-150 for the sacrifice. She appreciates a nice warm garage to sleep in every night.

Hey my family and I are taking a rare road trip with our R1S in a month and are looking to rent (with collateral) a pair of crossbars and surfboard mounts for 3 weeks... Anyone on the front range want to make some income? They are just way too expensive to justify purchasing!
