Ok, so with the Max Pack finally becoming available I need to complete the planning and such for upgrading my X to an R1T. There's just one concern/sticking-point from my wife: she thinks it's going to block the garage door such that we won't be able to get into the house reasonably. Physically I know it will fit in the garage, with nearly a foot to spare lengthwise. While this is slightly tighter than the X, I don't think it's going to be a problem.

Here's where I'm hoping someone from this group can help. I'm looking for someone that can bring their R1T over and let's see what it actually is like in my garage. I'm in Wilsonville (Villebois specifically) so if there's anyone in this area that can lend a hand in this, that would be amazing.

Tesla will let you take a test drive vehicle home to check it in your garage... Rivian when we had our "first mile" drive wouldn't even let us leave the pre-planned route. (But did let me do some backup and parking testing with the cameras in their delivery lot.)

I'd be happy to oblige, but I'm not back in town until the 13th and have an event on the 14th. So if you don't get anyone else to respond, let me know and we'll figure out a day/time.

I can possibly swing by on my way on on Monday. I work in Hillsboro and live in Keizer.

@Eeyore that would be awesome. I have Monday off so will be kicking around the house all day anyway. Any guess what time you'd be passing through town?

Probably around 6:30 +/- 15 minutes

PM, on my way home. I get off work in Hillsboro just before 5:00. Monday's are my visit dad day in Beaverton. I usually leave there by 6:00 PM

@Eeyore aahhh... so much better. I'll DM you an address. If you're able to stop by that would be amazing.

Huge thanks to @Eeyore for stopping by and helping visualize an R1T in my garage. Sadly the result is cancelling my reservation. :(

Sucks it didn’t fit in the garage, the R1S is about 17 inch shorter, maybe update your reservation to the R1S? Awesome job Eeyore for helping out!

@Nickm53 But the R1S isn't a *truck*, which is what I want. ;) I already own an SUV... so swapping to the R1S doesn't make much sense for me. My wife convinced me not to cancel the reservation just yet though. Maybe in a few years (after our kiddo is out of school) we'll move somewhere it would be workable, or maybe the R2 line will have something close to my old Chevy S10 size (or the Toyota SR5 of the 80s, or the Ford Ranger of the 90s... any of those old *small* pickup trucks that just aren't available in the US anymore.)

Glad I could help. Really bummed with the outcome however. I have the same situation. Garage is just too shallow by that much.

... and after @Eeyore's visit a few months back, we re-evaluated the garage setup, swapped sides of the garage and will be taking delivery this Saturday. :D I've been parking with a pile of boxes in place that narrows the garage to have the same amount of "extra space" as I'll have with the R1T and it's not as bad as I expected.
