I noticed New Jersey doesn't seem to have any Tesla Service Centers either, so unless New Jersey changes its laws, or has changed them in the last 7 months since Rivian filed, or starts providing exceptions to manufacturers, it would seem that your service will come from New York, most likely.

Tesla does have service centers in NJ so what about RIVIAN ?

Looks like the Miami SC is almost ready to open, looks like some inside work still going on, but i didnt see any more construction workers or equipment around, looks like maybe just some installation work left, the sign, the chargers, all outside work is done.

I am hoping for that as well. Still waiting to hear if they are ready to submit their application to Transport Canada. Hope they don't miss that window again.

I was in Franklin, TN yesterday and stopped by the future service center to see what progress may of been made. Didn't appear to be a lot but they do have a sign up along the road and inside the building. I didn't look into the back service area. Outside of the building still needs sprucing up.

Rivian should set up web cam feeds at their delivery site locations to allow us to view new deliveries.

I read an article that briefly mentioned their Vancouver one will be opening in the fall. I’d assume southern Ontario would be next. Or Calgary. Or both!

my suspicion is they are either waitingto have other things in place(licensed to sell in key places like Ontario and BC) before submitting or have already submitted their application to TC. The NSM approval process is largely self declaring. So unless it takes a lot longer now…there’s not many reasons for it to be so delayed.

Tesla does have service centers in NJ so what about RIVIAN ?

Can Rivian legally sell in NJ? I remember reading this in thee news about a direct sales battle. I just looked up the law:

6. (New section) Notwithstanding the provisions of any law, rule or regulation to the contrary, a motor vehicle franchisor licensed pursuant to R.S.39:10-19 on or prior to January 1, 2014 and exclusively manufacturing zero emission vehicles may buy from and sell, offer to sell, or deal to a consumer a zero emission vehicle, provided that the franchisor owns or operates, directly or indirectly:

(1) no more than four places of business in the State; and

(2) at least one retail facility for the servicing, including warranty servicing, of zero emission vehicles sold, offered for sale, or otherwise distributed in this State. This facility shall be furnished with all the equipment required to service a zero emission vehicle.

A franchisor shall not be required to establish or operate a place of business at a retail facility for the servicing of zero emission vehicles.

The first sentences catches me. They meet the zero emission, but I don't think they would have had a dealers license prior to 2014. Someone smarter than me will have to chime in on that one...

Been a while since I looked at this string. Surprised me that the Cleveland location hasn't been added yet. They delivered my truck Tuesday. 9601 Granger Rd, Cleveland OH 44125. He confirmed they are the SC for all of western PA, western NY, and some of WV as well as pretty much all of OH.

It was a way of grandfathering Tesla in while preventing future manufacturers from taking advantage of the same rule.
