I noticed that our R1S has the cover near the puck hole bent. Rear passenger side. It seems like someone tried to lift it and placed the puck at the wrong spot. Worried that this might have affected the battery and I am trying to get thoughts from anyone who knows.

Take the panel off and inspect for damage.

Do you know if this area is separate from the battery compartment? Anyone?

Battery pack has its own enclosure that is bolted to the chassis. The chassis is not the pack enclosure. See Munro Associates teardown video. If it’s steel, and I think it is, I wouldn’t be too concerned about slight deformation (not much could be done anyway, the deed is done). If tearing or stress fractures, then I would be concerned.

Your photo shows a little wear consistent with a puck being used in right place. Has the vehicle been lifted before/since by anyone?

I pulled the plastic panels off when I installed my running boards. Indentation on the plastic is purely cosmetic. No damage to the battery. I even cut slits in the panels to put them back in place around the brackets after the running board installation.

How do you safely (without breaking any clips) remove this particular panel?

The panels are not meant to be taken on and off frequently. Only the covers for the puck spots are meant to drop out. On the outer edge, closest to the doors, use a pry bar and a flat head screwdriver to try and pull the clips and panels off. If a clip stays stuck to the hole and doesn't come off with the panel, then you'll need to use some pliers to squeeze the clip together and pull it out of the hole. The other side with the tabs are held in by adhesive tape.

I had my tyres rotated recently at DT. One of the hole covers keeps coming off now. At highway speeds it's a nuisance because it flaps around. Not sure what to do but keep trying to put it back on. Might just gorilla glue it.

I have the same problem, someone needs to 3D print a replacement that holds up better. I’d rather have a sturdier untethered/easy to replace cap than the crappy tethered OEM caps. </0.02>
